Machine Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the tool shop, area created to perform preventive and corrective maintenance for the injection molding tools, ensuring efficient production, quality, and a safe work environment, this position leads a team of machinists, manage resources, and implement processes to meet production goals and customer needs. 
With his background in metal processes, this leadership position supports the implementation of metal stamping improvement initiatives and productivity projects. 
Responsibilities:
1.    Leadership and Team Management:
•    Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of machinists and other shop personnel.
•    Planning and Scheduling: Skill in planning, scheduling, and coordinating shop operations to meet production goals.
•    Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve technical and operational issues effectively. 

2.    Practical Experience:
•    Industry Experience: Years of experience in a machine shop environment, ideally with some supervisory or management experience. 
•    Continuous Improvement: Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and practices. 
•    Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols in a manufacturing setting.

3.    Process Improvement:
•    Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency.
•    Implement best practices to enhance manufacturing processes.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement through PEAK.

4.    Budget Management:
•    Develop and manage the machine shop department budget.
•    Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
5.    Collaboration:
•    Collaborate with other departments, including production, maintenance, and quality, to ensure seamless operations.
•    Work closely with senior management to align engineering initiatives with overall business objectives.
6.    Safety Compliance:
•    Ensure engineering activities comply with safety regulations and guidelines of SEAL.
•    Implement and promote a strong safety culture within the technical team.
Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial, mechanic or related field
•    10+ years of experience in fabrication of precision metal parts for injection molding, stamping dies and special equipment
•    Understanding of Machine Tools: Knowledge of various machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.) and their capabilities is essential
•    Machining Processes: Familiarity with different machining processes like turning, milling, drilling, and grinding, as well as their applications. 
•    Blueprint Reading: The ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications is crucial for understanding project requirements. 
•    CAD/CAM Software: Proficiency in using CAD/CAM software for design and programming CNC machines is a valuable skill. 
•    CNC Programming: Understanding CNC programming languages (G-code and M-code) and their use in controlling machine tools. 
•    Quality Control: Knowledge of quality control methods, such as statistical process control (SPC), geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and inspection procedures. 
•    Experience in metal-mechanic industry as plus
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and project management tools such as Microsoft Project (or other)
•    Possesses influencing skills (leads by example, clearly articulates business cases and interpretation of cause-effect impact).
•    Highly effective organization and planning skills required.
•    Ability to effectively communicate up, down and across the organization.
•    Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills are required.
•    Conversational technical level English
•    15% Travel Required – US and International (US, Mexico, LATAM, Asia)
