Position Summary:
The Associate Industrial Designer, AI VizLAB supports the creation of high-quality visual content across digital media, leveraging emerging technologies such as Generative AI to enhance efficiency and deliver innovative designs. In this role, the designer will work under the guidance of senior team members, collaborating with cross-functional teams to contribute to the company’s marketing and communication strategies while developing their skills in visualization and industrial design.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating visuals, animations and videos to communicate design intent and product narratives, incorporating feedback from senior designers.
  • Support the production of digital assets for use in videos, websites, presentations, and other platforms, utilizing AI tools to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Participate in the creation of interactive media, such as infographics and basic animations, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Develop skills in 3D CAD tools to create visual assets for Generative AI workflows, focusing on surfacing, CMF visualization, and product rendering.
  • Engage in training sessions and self-directed learning to build proficiency in AI tools and technologies.
  • Assist in pilot projects and AI-driven initiatives, contributing to testing and refining workflows under supervision.
  • Stay updated on advancements in AI and share insights with team members to promote learning and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to team discussions on visualization projects.
  • Create presentation materials to support design communication and alignment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
  • Recent graduate or up to three years of relevant experience in Industrial Design or creating digital commercial assets.
  • Basic experience with 3D design and modeling software such as Blender, Rhino, or SolidWorks, and familiarity with visualization tools like Keyshot.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, Vizcom, or Runway) is preferred but not required.
  • Strong foundational skills in design principles, visual composition, and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of photography and photo editing, with interest in learning AI-enhanced workflows.
  • Proficient in digital design tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite and Sketchbook Pro.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to present work effectively in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in team environments and take direction from senior staff.
  • Appetite for learning and willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Authorized to work in the United States (sponsorship not available).
  • Ability to travel at least once per quarter.

 

The Connecticut base pay range for this position is from $71,800 to $87,800. Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position.
