Associate Manager, Sales Policy & Governance

Reports To: Senior Manager, Sales Policy & Governance

Location: Remote

Position Overview:

This role sits within the Sales Policy & Governance team, which serves as the centralized owner of MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) policy, enforcement, and governance across Newell Brands as part of broader pricing governance and brand value protection efforts.

The Associate Manager is responsible for owning and driving day-to-day MAP operations and Sales Policy and Newell Sales Support (NSS) processes, ensuring consistent execution, strong data integrity, and operational discipline across the business.

This role serves as a primary MAP point of contact for Market Development & Planning (MD&P) and partners closely with Sales, Brand, Legal, Revenue Growth Management (RGM), and other stakeholders to ensure MAP activities are executed consistently and in alignment with policy. While working across these stakeholders, the role maintains clear ownership of MAP processes and ensures adherence to established governance and expectations.

The role owns data analysis and interpretation, using it to identify trends, explain business outcomes, and provide clear, actionable recommendations that improve decision-making and overall process effectiveness. This includes connecting data across multiple sources—often complex and not fully defined—to identify patterns, determine what matters, and proactively surface risks or opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

MAP Policy Execution & Compliance (Brand Protection)

  • Own day-to-day MAP monitoring, reporting, and enforcement workflows.
  • Drive consistent application of MAP policy across all channels.
  • Review and validate violations, ensuring accurate and appropriate escalation.
  • Identify risks and proactively surface gaps or inconsistencies.

Sales Policy & Newell Sales Support (NSS)

  • Maintain and update sales hierarchy structures as part of NSS-related processes.
  • Support MAS (Minimum Annual Spend) governance through reporting and trend identification.
  • Create, maintain, and improve Sales Policy and NSS documentation.
  • Provide clear guidance to stakeholders on policy application and interpretation.
  • Maintain centralized policy resources and ensure consistent usage.
  • Work across Sales, Finance, Master Data, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to understand impacts and align execution with policy expectations.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a primary MAP point of contact & SME for MD&P (Market Development & Pricing) and broader stakeholders.
  • Manage MAP-related inquiries and provide clear, policy-aligned direction.
  • Maintain control of MAP processes while navigating stakeholder needs.
  • Partner across Sales, Brand, Legal, and RGM to ensure consistent execution.

Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify gaps and inefficiencies across MAP, NSS, and related workflows.
  • Drive improvements to increase clarity, consistency, and execution efficiency.
  • Build and maintain SOPs and governance documentation.
  • Support and drive implementation of process changes, tools and policy updates.
  • Translate business needs into practical solutions that improve day to day execution.

Data, Reporting & Insights

  • Own data analysis and interpretation, translating outputs into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Identify trends, risks, and patterns across MAP activity, sales hierarchy, and related data.
  • Connect complex and often undefined data sources to determine what matters.
  • Proactively surface risks, inconsistencies, and opportunities.
  • Deliver clear, decision-ready insights for leadership.

Team Support & Development

  • Work closely with analysts to support execution and ensure work is aligned and progressing effectively.
  • Provide guidance to improve quality, accuracy, and clarity of outputs.
  • Help strengthen overall team capability in analytics, reporting, and execution.

Role Expectations:

  • Operates independently with strong ownership of workstreams.
  • Acts as the first line of response for MAP-related issues.
  • Provides clear direction and recommendations, not just analysis.
  • Maintains control of processes while managing stakeholder needs.
  • Identifies and resolves issues proactively.
  • Uses data to drive insights and recommended actions.
  • Acts as a reliable extension of the Sr. Manager in day-to-day execution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Sales Operations, Pricing, Finance, or a related function.
  • Experience operating independently in cross-functional, matrixed environments.
  • Strong Excel skills required; Power BI or similar analytic tools strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with complex or multi-source datasets.
  • Exposure to policy, governance, or operational process management preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently and drive work forward.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data, identify what matters, and provide clear recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on structure, clarity, and execution.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders while maintaining process consistency and expectations.
  • Process-oriented mindset with the ability to improve and implement ways of working.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.

The Remote base pay range for this position is from $85,500 to $117,600. Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position.
