Job Summary

 

The Account Manager is responsible for supporting the development and execution of the omni sales plan. A successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Omni Sales Team, Sales Planning, and Supply Chain to execute and evaluate aligned Newell tactics for assigned channels of distribution and categories.  Focus will be on monitoring, maintaining, and driving execution of profitable growth initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Role will report to National Account Manager and support The Dollar and Emerging Channels for Newell’s Home and Outdoor & Recreation segments
  • Supports the execution of specific account strategies and annual operating plans that deliver Newell Brands budget and Omni Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, and Price expectations.
  • Partners with sales team to create annual line review presentations, JBP’s, seasonal programs, and strategic projects to drive value
  • Assists in content development for monthly/quarterly Customer Business Review with Segment and Enterprise Leadership, facilitating discussion related to risks and opportunities to aligned annual operating plan and customer JBP 
  • Project management including sample execution, new item set ups, digital optimization on retailer websites and POS analysis
  • Utilize calendar of events to ensure timely delivery for best in class customer service
  • Collaborates with sales team to prepare and participate in the monthly Segment Demand Review as a key step of the Newell S&OP process
  • Networks and builds strong relationships with key internal and external operators to deliver accurate and timely results on sales focused initiatives
  • Externally advocates for the Newell business and internally advocates for the customer and shopper
  • Manages trade spend/customer programs in collaboration with sales and finance to maintain consistently balanced checkbooks
  • Researches and solves checkbook disputes and proactively identifies potential challenges and delivers preemptive solutions
  • Partners with sales analyst to identify business trends and support sales ideation around ways to drive the business – works with cross functional team on the tactics
  • Facilitate creation of consultative selling (SIERA) presentations to produce win-win solutions for customer/category growth
  • Actively lead day to day business tactical interactions with customer and internal partners to ensure accurate and timely item setup and order processing to minimize chargebacks and customer dissatisfaction.

 

Key Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or similar field preferred
  • Minimum 2+ years of direct and hands-on experience in sales
  • Experience working in a Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG), Fast-Moving Consumer Good (FMCG) and/or consumer durables industry preferred
  • High level knowledge and understanding of POS, inventory, and forecast data. Ability to run, comprehend and communicate report findings
  • Selling experience within consumer products, preferrable across multiple brands
  • Ability to operate independently given direction, and bring ideas and solutions to issues raised
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to present data in an organized manner to different levels of the organization
  • Strong project planning, tracking & organizing skills
  • Ability to build relationships and navigate a matrixed organization
  • Atlanta Corporate Headquarters, 3+ days per week
  • Travel 10%
