Position Title:  Associate Manager, Brand Finance – Baby (Graco)

Reports to:  Sr. Manager, Brand Finance – Baby (Graco)

Job Summary:

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Graco Brand and will lead the financial analysis for Global Graco Home and Wheels & Baby Jogger products.  This position will work cross functionally with Brand Marketing, Sales/Customer Planning, Operations Finance, International Finance, and other functions to drive profitable growth across Travel Systems, Strollers, Highchairs, Playards, Bassinets, and Swings products.  This role will support the new product development process, with a focus on pricing, cost, and profitability of new product launches, as well as supporting category assortment decisions, pricing strategy, profit and loss optimization, and long-term strategic planning.  This role will support Baby Advertising and Promotion; ensuring expenses are properly recorded and budgeted for.  This role will provide timely and accurate financial information to leadership and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment. 

 

Job Duties:

  • Support the New Product Development process by collaborating with cross functional stakeholders, including Brand Marketing, Sales/Customer Planning, Operations, and Cost Finance for domestic and international teams.
  • Prepare and evaluate financial viability of new product launches by taking ownership for financial projections, actively managing product lifecycles with business partners, and performing relevant postmortem analysis.
  • Attend project update meetings, brand demand reviews, innovation & gate meetings (amongst others) as the finance spokesperson, helping define opportunities and highlight risks that could impact the Graco & Baby Jogger business.
  • Support preparation of brand corporate deliverables such as the bi-annual innovation review with up-to-date financials and project insights.
  • Understand sales & profitability across the Graco portfolio of categories, products, and customers.
  • Understands competition exceedingly well (pricing, cost structure and market tactics).
  • Train cross function teams such as Sales/Customer Planning and Brand Marketing teams on financial file preparation as needed as well as reporting tools and general finance acumen.
  • Provide pricing approval and be part of the pricing strategy for Graco and Baby Jogger.
  • Support Baby Advertising and Promotion through coordination of spending estimates with the Brand Marketing team, reporting on monthly actuals and providing variance analysis, advising on accounting classification and expense recognition guidelines, as well as preparing forward-looking forecasts for corporate budgeting deliverables.
  • Complete other ad hoc analysis in support of the Graco brand (as needed).

 

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting/finance
  • 5-7 years of experience in finance/accounting, preferably in a Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) environment
  • Broad based business acumen (FP&A, Cost Accounting, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain)
  • Exposure to commercial finance with working knowledge of Volume/Price/Mix analysis, Trade Promotions and Advertising and Promotional Spend is desired
  • Experience with SAP is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, both written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate with a customer-focused mindset to partner and collaborate achieving a common goal with cross-functional business partners
  • Ability to assess risks and opportunities within complex business situations
  • Demonstrated ability to recommend and make decisions quickly under any situation
  • Advanced Excel skills, highly analytical and detail oriented
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy
