We are currently seeking a creative and driven Associate Brand Licensing Manager to join our team and support the development and growth of our iconic brands through inbound licensing and promotional partnerships. As an Associate Brand Licensing Manager, you will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and managing that drive incremental value across Newell’s three business segments: Home and Commercial, Learning and Development, and Outdoor and Recreation. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to structure impactful agreements that drive category innovation and deepen consumer engagement. You will also help educate brand teams on how to leverage inbound licensing and partnerships to strengthen brand equity, generate incremental revenue, and maintain cultural relevance.
This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, strong project management abilities, and a passion for staying ahead of entertainment, gaming, and influencer trends.
Key Responsibilities:
Licensing Opportunity Management:
- Assist in the evaluation of inbound licensing opportunities to ensure alignment with company strategy and brand values that resonate with consumers.
- Monitor trends to anticipate market demands and identify potential opportunities.
- Maintain an up-to-date calendar detailing upcoming release schedules for entertainment companies.
Negotiation and Agreement Execution:
- Support the negotiation of licensing agreements with potential partners, ensuring favorable terms for Newell Brands.
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams to facilitate timely finalization of agreements.
- Help ensure compliance with company policies and standards throughout the negotiation process.
Relationship Management:
- Assist in building strong relationships with inbound licensing partners, acting as a point of contact for ongoing discussions and inquiries.
- Provide support and guidance to partners during the licensing process to ensure a positive experience and foster long-term collaboration.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Integration:
- Provide support to brand management teams regarding potential licensors, category availability, royalty rates, and other relevant factors.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement best-in-class licensing practices for product development during monthly gate meetings.
Tracking, Reporting & Performance Optimization:
- Maintain detailed records of inbound licensing activities, including opportunity status, negotiation progress, and agreement terms.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on inbound licensing performance and key deal milestones.
- Analyze performance data and market feedback to identify optimization opportunities and make recommendations for portfolio adjustments.
Contract Management and Compliance:
- Help monitor compliance with contractual obligations and license terms, ensuring partner performance aligns with agreements.
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams on contract renewals, amendments, and terminations as needed.
Market Insights and Trend Analysis:
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics relevant to inbound licensing opportunities.
- Use market insights to support decision-making and identify emerging opportunities for portfolio expansion.
Representation at Events:
- Represent the company at summits, trade shows, conventions, and other key forums as needed.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in brand licensing or business development
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Motivated, dependable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical and strategic thinker
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of financial tracking systems
- Occasional travel may be required
