Brand Analytics and Insights Management at Newell Brands is a team closely linked to the Consumer & Shopper Insights, Sales and Marketing teams.  The Associate Manager role within BAIM is to assist the organization in gaining a deeper understanding of consumers, shoppers, competition, product categories, and market dynamics through data analysis. The Associate Manager’s primary responsibility is the participation in data governance; this is the management of our data hierarchies, including product coding for quality and accuracy. Secondarily, the BAIM Associate will leverage the data for analysis to deliver insightful findings about the marketplace, categories, and consumer/shoppers. Job Responsibilities: 

Data Analysis and Organization:

  • Organize and manage data from available data sources such as Numerator, Circana, NielsenIQ, Luminate, and other retailer specific data platforms.
  • Manage product attribution within databases to ensure data quality.
  • Informs stakeholders on critical project details and executional elements.
  • Effectively communicate findings to varying groups within the organization through discussion and presentation.
  • Maintain database through monthly reviews.
  • Assist in coordination of corporate training around POS data and strategic insights.
  • Provides effective project management including managing day-to-day relationship with suppliers.
  • Compile routine reports for consumption throughout the organization.

 

Strategy and Brand Vision Support:

  • Provides guidance to direct manager during strategic planning and situation assessments.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and challenges by data category and communicate action plan to address.
  • Brings a spirit of collaboration and service to the role.

 

Category and Market Landscape Analysis:

  • Assists manager with research related to primary/secondary sources of marketplace intelligence and trend data.
  • Aids in the coordination of measuring and monitoring of our brands and products in comparison to all relevant competition and assisting internal communications.

 

Consumer Culture and Advocacy:

  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and respect for our brands and consumers.
  • Participates in the organization’s strategic learning plan for consumer, end user, and shopper research.

 

Supplier Management:

  • Assists in maintaining day-to-day relationships with suppliers and informs stakeholders on any changes timing, budget, and final deliverables.
  • Coordinates final deliverables with suppliers, checks reports for accuracy and recommended necessary edit.

 

 

Ideal Candidate Profile:

 

  • Four-year college degree
  • 2-4 years of CPG experience; sales, marketing, category. Client and/or Supplier side is a plus.
  • Experience working directly with Scintilla, Circana (IRI/NPD), NielsenIQ, Numerator, or other retailer specific data platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
  • Must display strength in communication, teamwork, organization and planning, and advanced analytical skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize accordingly in a demanding environment.
  • Experience tailoring communications to different audiences and communicating to stakeholders.
  • Experience discovering consumer insights that lead to actionable recommendations is a plus.
  • Genuine respect for and curiosity about consumers, shoppers, and end users.
