Summary:

 

The Designer is an idea-driven conceptual thinker who excels at translating design strategy into creative solutions for cohesive experiences in the omni-channel space across the diverse portfolio of Newell Brands. Expertise includes: content across direct and indirect eCommerce sites, packaging, POP, brand identity, merchandising & collateral. Our designers are empowered to research new ideas, generate sketches, visualize concepts and communicate clear design intent through compelling design solutions. This role has the unique ability to operate on a strategic level to develop world class graphic design that resonates with consumers/customers and builds lasting brand equity across our portfolio.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Execute the visual articulation (style and tone) of brand strategy, initiatives, objectives and goals through best-in-class design solutions.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions with creative design team, in order to generate creative ideas.
  • Effectively present creative concepts to internal teams, with thoughtful rationale.
  • Maintain knowledge of creative marketing trends and best practices. Participate in training sessions on AI tools and continuously develop skills to leverage these tools effectively.
  • Concept, design and execution of omni-channel assets for print and digital channels (including website and emails with a mobile-first lens) leveraging AI and digital twins for faster production and advanced effects.
  • Evaluate provided creative briefs to ensure information is understood and actionable prior to executing design work.
  • Execute and apply brand style guide elements, including logo, product branding, typography, packaging, photography and activation materials, ensuring consistency with brand positioning.
  • Prepare final assets according to specific print production guidelines at high levels of accuracy, efficiency and replication.
  • Utilizes and automates designs with AI tools – Text to image, image to image, and image to 3D software, and scripted automations.
  • Direct and lead brand through product photo, CGI, and video shoots (direction, storyboards) with consult of Manager, Creative
  • Collaborate with peers to share best design practices across the organization. Work with copywriters, user experience experts to seamlessly create supporting graphics that will support different types product/content experiences
  • Make proactive recommendations to streamline & improve creative processes.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • University degree or college diploma in graphic design, art or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a creative/graphic design position, and/or executing digital commercial assets for email, websites, and social media
  • Experienced in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
  • Familiarity with asset production from 3D modeling tools: Adobe Substance suite, Keyshot, etc.
  • Knowledge of design workflows utilizing Generative AI tools: e.g. Firefly, ChatGPT, Midjourney, etc.
  • Knowledge of brand and asset management via Adobe Libraries, Adobe Express, and Adobe Experience Manager a plus
  • Highly detail-oriented.
  • Passionate about design and knowledgeable about the industry, trends, and marketplace.
  • Strong written, verbal and visual communication skills. Strong presentation skills.
  • Pragmatic with excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to:
      • Demonstrate passion for a brand
      • Drive consensus, foster creative collaboration. Team player with enthusiasm.
      • Work directly with both internal and external partners in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong time management skills. Demonstrates a high degree of flexibility within tight deadlines.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, basic principles of UX/UI
  • Hands-on understanding of front-end development and responsive design preferred
  • Video editing/motion graphics experience preferred
