Job Overview: The Lead, Compensation plays a key role within the Compensation team and the broader Global Total Rewards function. This position will take a lead role in partnering with and supporting the Global Procurement & Supply Network. The Lead, Compensation will be a strategic partner to HR and Business Leaders to drive global consistency and alignment to Newell’s new Job Architecture, develop a scalable salary structure that aligns with business objectives, and review and make recommendations on the use of incentive and recognition programs globally. This position will also manage or support the day-to-day compensation-related activities for the North America Global Procurement & Supply Network population.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic compensation partner to HR and the business, acting as a subject matter expert on compensation practices, programs and policies
- Partner with HR and Business Leaders on the global design and implementation of career streams, areas of specialization and new jobs for the Factory Hourly employees. Align to Newell’s newly implemented job architecture, creating clear functional specifications that will align to skill criteria, training and career pathing.
- Partner with Finance and business leaders to align on a more consistent, disciplined approach to Factory Hourly salary planning across sites globally, including:
- Clear principles for increases and differentiation
- Alignment with market positioning and internal equity
- Linkage between skill progression, performance, and pay
- Develop and maintain a consistent approach to site‑level market analysis to ensure competitiveness and employee retention, particularly for critical technical roles.
- Partner with HR and Finance to evaluate the current annual compensation cycle for Factory Hourly employees and assess the feasibility of aligning to Newell’s annual merit program for professional and clerical employees.
- Perform complex compensation analyses, sharing insights and recommended actions
- Complete job evaluations and market reviews, and make recommendations on actions
- Help drive process improvements, including automation initiatives and leveraging AI tools in compensation programs.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of progressively responsible compensation experience in a global organization
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated success in analyzing compensation data, validating results, and extracting insights.
- Experience working with HR and/or leaders on compensation proposals and initiatives.
- Experience building presentation and presenting to management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying and solving challenges
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to work across a global landscape and obtain alignment with individuals who are working towards a common goal.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and working knowledge of Power Suite and AI tools.
