Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Finance Manager to elevate our financial management by spearheading sales forecasting, reporting, and analytics across multiple brands within Newell’s Outdoor & Recreation segment. This role will be pivotal in driving our financial processes and performance management initiatives. You will work closely with Commercial Finance Leads, Segment CFOs, Segment FP&A, Brand Finance Leads, along with cross function sales partners to deliver insights that drive strategic decision-making.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Financial Management and Oversight:

  • Manage daily financial operations, ensuring adherence to financial policies and effective risk management.

 

Budget and Forecasting:

  • Lead the creation of financial forecasts including Sales, Trade Funding, Customer Accruals, Mix, and A/R, modeling various scenarios to predict future financial performance based on market trends, historical data, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Regularly update forecasts to reflect actual performance and changing market conditions, providing an accurate basis for adjustments in strategic planning.

 

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with key stakeholders during the budgeting and planning phases to gather input, communicate financial opportunities or constraints, and ensure that all perspectives are considered.
  • Facilitate meetings and presentations to discuss and refine budgetary submissions and forecasts.

 

Performance Monitoring:

  • Monitor organizational performance against the budget, identifying variances, and conducting root cause analysis to understand deviations.
  • Report these findings to senior management and suggest corrective actions as necessary to align performance with forecasts.

 

Analytics:

  • Leverage financial data to communicate qualitative and quantitative analysis by creating detailed reports that supports data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting capabilities

 

Compliance and Guidelines:

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies during the budget preparation and approval processes.
  • Develop and refine budgeting guidelines and templates to streamline the process and improve accuracy and efficiency.

 

Training and Development:

  • Train and mentor team members and stakeholders on budget-related processes and systems to enhance organizational capabilities in financial planning and analysis.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial finance, with a focus on financial reporting, analytics, and performance management.
  • Proven experience in managing financial processes across multiple segments or brands.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to translate complex financial data into clear, concise reports and presentations.
  • Proficient in financial modeling, forecasting, and using financial systems and tools including SAP, Hyperion, PowerBI.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and senior management.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing and developing teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
