Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Scheduling Optimization Lead to oversee the development and deployment of processes and systems aimed at optimizing the scheduling of production lines across multiple factories. This role involves managing the complexities of producing multiple products on various machines, considering constraints related to personnel, materials, and technology compatibility. The successful candidate will ensure that production schedules align with supply plans derived from demand plans as part of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. The optimization will focus on cost and service, including throughput, capacity utilization, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and quality. This role will leverage existing and emerging technologies like AI.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Scheduling Systems: Design and deploy advanced scheduling systems and processes to optimize production line efficiency across multiple factories. Develop and track leading and lagging KPIs.
- Analyze Constraints: Identify and manage constraints related to workforce availability, material supply, and technology compatibility to ensure seamless production operations.
- Build Scheduling Network: Create and lead a global Process Improvement Community of Knowledge to connect, standardize, and reapply best practices across 42 factories on 5 continents. Build global production scheduling capability as a core competency.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with supply chain, production, and engineering teams to align production schedules with supply and demand plans.
- Monitor and Adjust Schedules: Continuously monitor production schedule efficiency and make necessary adjustments to address any disruptions or changes in demand.
- Optimize Cost and Service: Focus on optimizing cost and service metrics, including throughput, capacity utilization, OEE, and quality.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics to assess production performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
- Technology Integration: Ensure the integration of new technologies and systems to enhance scheduling accuracy and efficiency. Focus on selecting, integrating, and deploying AI tools to support optimization.
- Training and Development: Train and mentor team members on best practices in production scheduling and system usage.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production scheduling processes and systems.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in production scheduling, operations management, or a related field, with a focus on multi-factory environments.
- Experience with SAP planning environment is considered a plus.
- Proficiency in scheduling software and ERP systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Optimization and process imporvement around scheduling.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, or applicable Operational Excellence system experience.
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
