The Manager, Brand Analytics and Insights will work closely with the Senior Manager of Brand Analytics, Brand team, and Customer Planning teams to lead data-driven storytelling, focusing on driving overall category growth by leveraging syndicated data, shopper and consumer insights, category, and industry trends.

 

The Manager, Brand Analytics and Insights will play an integral role in helping the Company achieve objectives by becoming an indispensable strategic business partner for our Brand segments in the marketing organizations, build strong sustainable business relationships at all levels and functions of the organization, customers and customer teams, and linking business objectives with winning growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities 

Extensive Category Understanding:

  • Manage and own the internal relationship between Brand Analytics and assigned Segment teams, ensuring needs are met and lead through proactive insights and thought leadership.
  • Act as subject matter expert for Segment to internal constituents including Brand, Customer planning and Segment Leadership
  • Build and maintain market / competitive landscape reporting tools resources and deliver regular category / competitive assessments
  • Serve as the expert on the use of syndicated data to assist Brand, Sales Planning, and Segment Leadership in the development of strategies, tactics, and analytical story telling

 

Multi-channel Experience:

  • Provide insight and perspective on the various channel dynamics and trends for relevant categories
  • Monitor and provide analysis on channel shifting reflected in the marketplace
  • Form perspective on multi-channel purchasing behaviors (e.g. site to store, store to site, etc.)
  • Maintain and enhance POV on future trends of the industry and economy that have implications on Newell business on behalf of segment

 

Project Management:

 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines and with a variety of internal stakeholders
  • Manage flow of information and time-sensitive requests from division leadership, sales, brand marketing, etc
  • Ability to prioritize, lead and delegate effectively

Data Management, Reporting and Analysis

  • Support all weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reporting needs related to POS and market share performance
  • Liaise with Insights Management on critical syndicated data sources and associated issues, which include product hierarchy development, data maintenance and accuracy, and organization-wide trainings
  • Provide strategic category direction to cross-functional business decisions based on syndicated and HH panel data

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Business, Economics. Statistics or related field), advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience working with a leading CPG company (Category Management, Sales/Brand Analytics, Customer Planning, or related position)
  • 2+ years of direct and hands-on retail/CPG specific experience preferred with a strong desire to help shape the future at Newell Brands
  • Strategic thinking, self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with aggressive deadlines.
  • Understands business principles and strategy to determine the “So What…Now What” for key stakeholders
  • Advanced analytical skills and computer software proficiency (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Exp with syndicated data measures and software (e.g., Circana (NPD/IRI), Nielsen) as well as with Panel data (e.g. Numerator, Circana)
  • Strong executive presence, can interact at all levels of the organization across multiple functional areas
  • Experience managing a team is preferred
