The Program Manager will be a key member of the Baby BU Program Management Office (PMO) reporting to the Senior Manager, PMO. This position provides leadership for cross-functional teams in the development, commercialization and launch of innovative product solutions that meet cost, schedule, quality, and scope requirements. Additionally, the Program Manager will manage programs of all complexity, technology, markets, and risks, and will aid in both the accuracy and analysis of project planning and reporting.
Job Responsibilities
- Independently lead projects that range in complexity in new/existing markets and technology, delivering key PMO metrics of project time, cost, and quality.
- Partner with Brand to define project scope & success criteria; navigate scope changes and manage risk to ensure successful project delivery.
- Lead project kickoffs to collaboratively develop project schedule inclusive of product design, development, qualification, and commercialization activity.
- Establish formal weekly team meetings & communication methods that drive project execution & completion.
- Motivate and monitor project team members while influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team and escalate issues as needed.
- Manages scope changes and off cycle requests on an as needed basis, per project, and ensures supporting documentation and tracking is completed.
- Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Interact effectively with global product development teams.
- Use financial information and analysis to support fact-based business decisions.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) of the New Product Development (NPD) process. Provide training on NPD to cross functional teams.
- Participate in post launch audit output evaluations to recommend advancements for continuous improvement of project execution practices.
- Develop self as a role model for professionalism and leadership within Baby PMO.
- Recognize, celebrate, and reward successes of individuals and of project teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or in a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in NPD project management, specifically Consumer Products innovation
- Experience leading ground-up product design projects with high complexity and high capital spend on an accelerated timeline.
- Proven ability to facilitate relations between cross functional leadership.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and/or MS Planner as a project management tool & expert level comfort with waterfall project management methodology
- Demonstrated familiarity with hard goods and soft goods manufacturing processes.
- Experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes.
- Possesses influencing skills (leads by example, clearly articulates business cases and interpretation of cause-effect impact).
- Highly effective organization and planning skills
- Attention to detail; commitment to data integrity and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
- Able to effectively translate complex initiatives into simple concepts.
