Our culture is built on values in action: Integrity, Teamwork, Passion for Winning, Ownership, and Leadership. We work together to win, grow, and make a real impact—supported by a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative environment where you can be your best, every day.

Newell Brands (NYSE: NWL) is a leading global consumer goods company with a strong portfolio of well-known brands. What unites all our businesses is a belief in brand-led growth, driven by an understanding of the constantly changing needs of our consumers and the ability to create products that win in the market by delivering superior performance, design and innovation.

About the Role

The Senior Associate supports Newell Brands’ Emerging Tech team by creating brand-aligned visual assets, digital experiences, and prototypes for assigned projects. The role applies existing brand guidelines, design systems, and creative workflows within the direction, project scope, and priorities established by the Emerging Tech team leader.

Working with AI developers, AI creatives, and brand partners, this hands-on designer translates approved briefs into concepts and finished deliverables. The role contributes design judgment and practical recommendations within assigned work, with guidance at agreed review points.

Responsibilities:

Brand and Digital Design

  • Create visual concepts and production-ready assets for assigned brand, e-commerce, campaign, and product storytelling briefs using approved brand standards and templates.
  • Adapt approved designs across specified channels and formats, checking visual consistency, product accuracy, and consumer clarity.
  • Gather project inputs from designated brand and marketing partners; clarify requirements and incorporate consolidated feedback within the approved brief.

UX and UI Design

  • Create wireframes, page layouts, interface mockups, and interactive prototypes for defined website, internal tool, or AI application features using established components and design patterns.
  • Apply established usability and accessibility guidance to page hierarchy, navigation, and interaction details. Review designs with the project lead before development handoff.
  • Work with developers to explain design specifications, review implemented designs, and resolve routine design issues; escalate changes affecting scope or shared standards.

Prototyping and Creative Production

  • Build visual prototypes for use cases selected by the team leader, using approved tools and workflows, including AI-enabled tools where appropriate.
  • Prepare storyboards, visual references, presentation assets, and simple motion or video content for assigned concepts; support photo and video production under established creative direction.
  • Support pilot testing by checking outputs against defined brand, usability, and quality criteria; document observations and recommend refinements for review.

Collaboration and Delivery

  • Coordinate assigned deliverables with AI creatives, developers, and designated brand or commerce partners. Share progress, dependencies, and questions with the project lead.
  • Maintain organized design files, versions, specifications, and handoff documentation using existing asset-management and content workflows.
  • Present assigned design work and its rationale in project reviews; incorporate approved feedback and flag conflicting requests or delivery risks to the team leader.

Scope and Decision Making

This is an individual contributor role accountable for the quality, completeness, and timely delivery of assigned design work. The designer independently resolves routine execution decisions within approved briefs and standards, and proposes improvements for review.

The Emerging Tech team leader establishes the strategy, frameworks, design and workflow standards, project priorities, and success criteria. The leader retains responsibility for cross-functional alignment, scope changes, resource commitments, and decisions to advance pilots or scale capabilities. The Senior Associate supports these activities through design deliverables and documented feedback, with no people-management or enterprise rollout accountability.

Measures of Success

  • Assigned deliverables meet agreed deadlines, brief requirements, and established brand and design quality criteria.
  • Prototypes and design files are complete, clearly documented, and ready for review, testing, or development handoff.
  • Feedback is incorporated accurately, routine issues are resolved, and risks are escalated in time for the project lead to act.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in brand design, digital design, integrated creative, experience design, creative direction, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience working with consumer brands, ideally within CPG, consumer products, retail, lifestyle, or similarly complex brand environments.
  • Ability to apply existing brand guidelines and design systems to polished digital assets, page layouts, and consumer-facing content.
  • Working knowledge of UX/UI principles and proficiency with relevant design and prototyping tools, such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma.
  • Ability to develop concepts from an established brief, incorporate feedback, and prepare accurate files and specifications for handoff.
  • Clear communication, attention to detail, and experience collaborating with creative and technical colleagues while managing assigned deadlines.
