Position Overview:
This person will conceptualize and develop new product artwork and on product graphics that improve the lives of our customers. In this role you will be involved in all aspects of consumer facing graphic layout’s (Production Art) and color specifications. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and manufacturing partners, to align User Experience, Engineering, Marketing and Industrial Design specifications into production artwork. This senior individual contributor level product art specification role will lead day to day projects maintaining design intent, mentor junior Stylemaster team members, and define new on product artwork standards during product line refreshes.
Responsibilities:
- Strive for excellence in design, and consistency as you finalize production ready art based off rough or finished templates for posters and image boards.
- Proof final production ready art working with Adobe CC.
- Use established Visual Design Languages to successfully execute control panel graphics, warnings, and all consumer facing graphic layout(s) within established templates.
- Develop new standards, graphics elements and Design Language guidelines as needed for brand refreshes and strategy refinements.
- Contribute to junior staff development through creative collaboration and personal leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Technical Illustration, Industrial Design, or related disciplines
- 5+ years of industry experience in Graphic Design and Pre-press in either a corporate or consultancy environment, with an emphasis in consumer products.
- Demonstrate ability to work in team environments
- Ability to present in English.
- Digital Design Tools Highly Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite with ability to efficiently navigate Engineering drawings and CAD.
- Visual Communications Demonstrated understanding of the specific media and mediums resident within the fields of communication design and the fundamental design components of each.
- Typography & Letterforms An expert in understanding typographical families, how to use them for successful balance of design criteria and constraints. Able to articulate the connections between letterform design with parallel graphic design trends. Understands the relevance of letterform to narrative.
- Feasibility Engineering Full understanding and comprehension of Engineering drawings, how to produce them from CAD, and how they relate as an underlay in producing final art.
- Materials and Methods Fully capable in executing Technical Pre-press approvals, and implementation of designs that support ID, Engineering and Marketing criteria.
- Interface Design Complete understanding of principles of human factors as it relates to controls and functional surfaces.
- Human Factors Full understanding and ability to articulate principles of human factors as it relates to controls and functional surfaces.
- Best in Class Workflow Ability to assess and bring new software solutions into workflows to enhance throughput and quality.
