Job Summary:
The Sourcing Operations Project Leader is responsible for achieving financial targets set by the segment leadership team for product categories within the Baby Gear category. This role focuses on leveraging comparative advantages in sourcing and driving optimization initiatives within the Baby Gear category. The Project Leader leads the segment in identifying and aligning with business teams, providing leadership in project portfolio management, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across business verticals and regions to execute projects that achieve sourcing and operational targets.
The Sourcing Operations Project Leader leads cross-functional teams from “Ideation” to “Execution” of sourcing solutions that meet cost savings targets, schedule, quality, and performance. Additionally, they will aid in the accuracy and analysis of the project portfolio financial savings, planning, and reporting for the business segment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve KPI targets as set by segment leadership.
- Use financial information and analysis to support fact-based business decisions.
- Lead quarterly ideation sessions (internal and external) to maintain full funnel value as set by Newell Brands Leadership.
- Develop and submit new sourcing projects for review and approval through the NPD process/guidelines.
- Lead Network Planning Sessions to collaboratively develop project timelines.
- Develop requirements and project plans with date-driven deliverables and hold team and self-accountable to meet these plans.
- Review and provide feedback on phase deliverables with internal stakeholders and supplier team leaders.
- Lead cross-functional teams at factories and APAC offices to drive alignment and successful project outcomes of all sourcing projects assigned.
- Establish recurring team meetings and communication that drive project execution.
- Collaborate with Newell Brands global team members on development and execution of sourcing projects and ideas.
- Manage project scope alignment, adherence, and changes to ensure successful project delivery.
- Motivate and monitor project team members and contractors while influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Identify and resolve issues within the project team and escalate issues as needed.
- Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Develop self as a role model for professionalism and leadership.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply-chain management, Industrial engineering. PMP Certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in project management.
- Familiarity with basic manufacturing processes and production planning.
- Experience leading complex operational projects, including geographic relocations and supplier diversification.
- Consumer products industry experience is a plus.
- Previous experience in plastics molding, metal forming, or product assembly is a plus.
- Ability to facilitate relations between business groups and technology departments.
- Demonstrated familiarity with structured project management methodologies.
- Experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes.
- Proficient in tools such as Microsoft Project, Project Online, and SharePoint.
- Possesses strong influencing skills (leads by example, clearly articulates business cases and interpretation of cause-effect impact).
- Demonstrates high ethics and values.
- Highly effective organization and planning skills required.
- Interacts appropriately with cross-functional personnel through executive leadership.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills required.
