About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our ANZ team based in Botany, Sydney. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, compliant, and customer-focused payroll services.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for approximately 220 employees across Australia and New Zealand. This role manages both weekly and monthly payroll cycles while ensuring compliance with legislative and company requirements.

What will you be responsible for?
- Process end-to-end weekly and monthly payrolls across ANZ
- Manage payroll transactions including timesheets, leave, allowances, deductions, and employee changes
- Maintain accurate employee records and payroll master data
- Reconcile payroll reports and investigate discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation
- Manage statutory obligations including STP, PAYG, payroll tax and superannuation
- Support month-end, year-end and audit requirements
- Respond to employee and manager payroll enquiries
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls
- Assist with payroll projects, system upgrades, and testing activities
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll processing
- Strong knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation
- Experience using Dayforce Payroll (essential)
- Payroll systems experience, ideally including Micropay
- Advanced payroll reconciliation and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
