Displays and Merchandising

The Merchandising role will report to the Sr. Manager, Marketing – Home & Commercial to develop and execute best-in-class temporary, semi-permanent and/or permanent merchandising solutions. This role will work across all segments in Canada to manage internal and external resources in achieving display objectives for each brand while meeting timelines.

 

Primary responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams, managing display projects from inception to execution, tracking and supporting the display development process, understanding scale and cost implications, and striving to improve the in-store experience for shoppers through best-in-class merchandising. 

 

Responsibilities

 

Best in Class Merchandising

  • Collaborates with Country Marketing, Customer Planning & Strategy and Sales to set the merchandising strategy for both existing products and new innovations.
  • Manages third-party display supplier to create enhanced, disruptive displays that drive top line sales, profit, and gross margin while conscientiously managing display expense
  • Leads the development and execution of retailer-specific displays for relevant channels and/or customers. Specific program management responsibilities, including:
    • End-to-end cross-functional oversight and delivery of derivative new items through a gated process.  These projects include temporary displays, graphic/language updates, case quantities, regulatory updates, and seasonal promotional packs.
    • Review project details for SKU creation & gather cost estimates
    • Create SKU within web-based system using information from P&L document
    • Gather project details from Sales, Marketing and Operations and summarize into a project brief providing direction for cross-functional team members to action
    • Communicate project details to manufacturing & third party supplier for design/development/quoting & labor information
    • Liaising with Third Party Suppliers to ensure proper flow of communication and deliverables for execution including:  Rendering development, Delivery of creative assets & product dimensions, product samples, etc.
    • Lead Display Productivity efforts working Collaboratively with Operations/Sourcing
    • Understand project timelines from supply chain and third party supplier.
    • Manage the correct network deliverables to ensure on time go to market
    • Working closely with cross-functional team to ensure that projects are tracking, and all roles and responsibilities are being met. Pro-actively identify risks and work collaboratively with subject matter experts to put mitigation plans in place in advance.
    • Participates on cross-functional teams to develop new displays.  Manages display forecasting to ensure alignment with Demand planning
    • Liaise between production facility and suppliers to troubleshoot production concerns

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-7 years of experience working with a leading CPG company (In-Store Merchandising, Package Engineering, or related position)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Merchandising best practices, tools and processes
  • Excellent project management skills and experience managing timelines
  • Strong executional background
  • Knowledge of the retail landscape
