Reporting to the Director of eCommerce, the eCommerce Capabilities Manager role at Newell Brands is essential for driving the company’s digital transformation and growth by overseeing the Omni-Enablement, Digital Marketing and Merchandising functions. This position requires a strong leader to manage the development of omni-channel solutions and the execution of digital strategies that connect Newell Brands with consumers and retail partners. The focus will be on optimizing the digital experience and delivering growth across various digital platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and execution of comprehensive omni-channel strategies for our brands, optimizing both online and offline touchpoints to ensure a seamless customer experience across all channels (website, mobile, social, influencers, retail media). 
  • Foster an inclusive leadership culture by empowering and mentoring digital marketing, merchandising, creative, and analytics teams, ensuring they work cohesively across different functions and departments to meet strategic objectives.
  • Understanding the relationship between paid – owned – earned media and the consumer journey concept. Build effective digital plans against meaningful moments of receptivity with test & learn mentality.
  • Build local Digital COE by partnering with global teams to streamline digital processes, lead educational sessions, and maintain self-serve playbooks to enhance digital capabilities across teams.
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to execute best-in-class eCommerce strategies for our brands through retail media and retail brand experience (PDPs, brand stores, landing pages, etc.), driving qualified traffic into customer online stores, creating a wholistic omni-channel presence, and driving profitable conversion.
  • Support Digital Marketing and Merchandising team members in driving conversion rates, increase customer retention, and improve lifetime value (CLV) through consistent brand messaging and customer experience.
  • Champion our digital transformation journey, guiding the organization in adopting advanced technologies, tools, and data analytics to enhance digital marketing capabilities and operational efficiencies.
  • Evaluate agency partner capability. Provide expert-level coaching across the organization on digital marketing and media analytics, ensuring that we are optimizing against meaningful KPIs, developing measurement plans that are aligned to brand objectives, and that we have the right tools and processes in place to evaluate marketing performance.
  • Work alongside Digital Marketing manager to oversee budgets allocation and phasing across various brands and digital channels to ensure optimal ROI and the delivery of joint KPIs.
  • Utilize data analytics to drive decision-making, continuously assessing and refining digital marketing and omni-channel initiatives to ensure they are optimized for highest performance and customer engagement.
  • Identify strategic influencer partnerships, affiliate marketing, cross-promotion strategies, sponsorships, and exclusive collaborations that complement our brand objectives and KPIs. 
  • Support customer line reviews, Joint Business Planning (JBP), and T2T discussions to align on digital priorities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: BS/BA or University degree in a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of experience in digital marketing and/or eCommerce, ideally in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) or Marketing Agency industry.
    • People and team management experience
    • Proven success in delivering dynamic growth plans and creative solutions in fast-paced environments.
  • Skills:
    • Thought leadership in digital marketing strategy, providing insights and leadership in best practices and trends in the industry.
    • Strong experience in digital marketing, content implementation, and user experience (e.g., Syndication, PIM, DAM).
    • Proficiency in tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Nielsen, and Amazon Advertising (AMS), or similar platforms such as Google AdWords.
    • Understanding of eCommerce fulfillment models, including 1P, 3P/Marketplace, and Drop-Ship.
    • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess performance trends and optimize strategies accordingly.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic thinking.
