Your Role & Team in a Nutshell

As a Senior Manager – Global Security, you will ensure the provision and coordination of services, measures, and initiatives necessary to protect Newell Brands' employees, physical assets, and brands (like Parker, Sharpie, Breville, Sistema, Yankee Candle) in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region from potential threats and risks. This includes mitigating loss, damage, or harm caused by incidents such as criminal or unlawful activities, natural disasters, and other emergencies.

You will be part of a Global Security Team of four.
We will help you achieve your goals and develop by providing regular feedback and access to online training courses.

 

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the global Business Continuity program, including plan creation, updates, and testing, by conducting risk assessments, collaborating with various departments, and coordinating regular testing to ensure operational resilience. Partner with the Disaster Recovery team to align business continuity plans with IT disaster recovery strategies, providing training, monitoring effectiveness, ensuring compliance, and leading response efforts during incidents.
  • Audit and Review Security Measures: Conduct audits and reviews of physical security measures at all regional locations. Provide recommendations to address identified vulnerabilities and ensure the implementation and maintenance of appropriate security measures across all EMEA facilities.
  • Manage Threats and Incidents: Assist in managing threats and incidents against the company, its employees, and brands. Serve as the focal point for disseminating information on activities that may affect security and safety.
  • Liaison: Establish and maintain relationships with key industry and law enforcement contacts and organisations in the region to enhance security measures and response capabilities.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments: Perform risk assessments and prepare detailed investigation reports and situational updates for senior management and executives as required.
  • Oversee Security Systems: Manage corporate access control, CCTV, and visitor management platforms for all sites within the region. Provide guidance for the deployment of security technology systems and oversee all regional security systems projects from scope and design through to implementation.
  • Coordinate Training: Coordinate and conduct comprehensive security awareness training sessions for employees, tailored to address regional risks. Topics include personal security measures, effective incident management strategies, travel security protocols, and responses to active assailant situations.
  • Provide Travel Security: Offer comprehensive security guidance and assistance to employees before and during travel. Ensure they are aware of potential risks and necessary precautions, including advice on personal safety, local security conditions, and emergency procedures.

 

What You’ll Need

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a demonstrated experience in a similar position in an international environment.
  • Proven management experience, including overseeing employees, businesses, budgets, and projects.
  • Fluent in English and another European language (French or German preferred)
  • Willing to travel internationally 30-50% of time, including trips on a short notice.
