GENERAL OVERVIEW:
The Procurement Data Analyst role enables procurement stakeholders by transforming procurement and P2P data into actionable insights that improve cost, compliance, and operational performance. The role partners with Procurement, AP, Finance, IT, and Tax to define data requirements, build standardized reporting, and deliver recurring dashboards and analytics that support sourcing and operational decision-making.

 

This position exists to strengthen enterprise adoption of procurement standards through measurement and transparency—monitoring process adherence, identifying leakage and exceptions, and recommending corrective actions supported by data. The role also supports continuous improvement by conducting root-cause analysis, tracking KPIs (e.g., spend, PPV, cycle times, contract compliance, supplier performance), and quantifying benefits from improvement initiatives.

 

In addition, the role maintains procurement reporting governance, including metric definitions, data quality checks, and documentation to ensure consistent and reliable insights across teams and systems

Frontline Stakeholder Support & Intake: Serve as the primary point of contact for procurement operations support; manage intake, troubleshoot issues, and respond to stakeholder requests using the defined support model.

Procurement Reporting & Dashboard Delivery: Develop, maintain, and publish standardized procurement/P2P dashboards and recurring reports (e.g., Spend, Savings, PPV, Compliance, Cycle Time, Supplier Performance). Ensure refresh cadence, data accuracy, and stakeholder usability.

Data Extraction, Validation & Data Quality Management: Extract and consolidate data from procurement and finance systems (ERP/eProcurement/AP). Perform reconciliations and exception checks, investigate data issues, coordinate fixes with process owners/IT, and maintain strong data quality controls.

Insight Generation & Performance Analytics: Analyze trends, variances, and outliers across procurement KPIs and operational performance. Provide clear commentary and visuals explaining drivers, risks, and opportunities to support stakeholder decision-making

Root Cause Analysis & Improvement Recommendations: Conduct deep-dive analyses on recurring issues (e.g., maverick spend, delayed approvals, invoice/3-way match exceptions, supplier delivery gaps). Identify root causes and propose corrective actions with quantified impact and implementation steps.

Analytics Governance & Documentation: Maintain KPI definitions, calculation logic, data dictionaries, and documentation for reports/dashboards. Ensure version control and consistent interpretation of metrics across Procurement, AP, Finance, IT, and Tax.

The role should be able to complete translational level work related to PO creation, PO changes, Vendor Additions, and Contract loads with little to no supervision. Clear parameters will be set when activities in these areas require escalation to a Supervisor/Leader level resource.

Span of Control  (Describe relevant interfacing with internal and external entities):

 

Procurement Analyst will primary be communicating with Indirect Procurement end users based in North American and Canada.

 

Problem Solving Complexity (Low, Moderate, High or N/A). Explain:

 

Moderate – On the job training will be provided on how to troubleshoot common errors, but there is a expectation of learning the systems and more complex issues on the job with support and guidance from North American based P2P Team.

 

Interpersonal Skills (Negotiation, Influence, Persuasion). Explain:

 

Clear and articulate messaging to Indirect Procurement End Users. It is critical that messaging be timely, consistent, and professional.
