Your Role

 

As our Category Manager – Home France & Benelux, you will take the lead on unlocking category growth and profitability across a diverse portfolio: Homecare, Kitchen, Beverage, and Home Fragrance. This newly created position offers you the opportunity to shape the role from the ground up, with room to innovate and adapt in line with evolving business needs.

 

Working closely with our Key Account Managers and cross-functional teams (Brand Activation, Logistics, Legal), you will be at the crossroads of insight and execution. With a sharp eye on market trends and shopper behaviour, you will craft strategies that resonate across France and Benelux, with a primary focus on specialty retail and selective involvement in mass distribution.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Category Strategy & Insights: Develop an expert understanding of the market, product dynamics, competition, and shopper behaviours using panel data, data sharing tools and custom studies.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor key category drivers (assortment, shelf presence, promotions), run monthly diagnostics and recommend corrective actions to drive performance.
  • Strategic Planning: Define the category strategy by leveraging shopper and consumer insights. Play an active role in brand relaunches across the portfolio.
  • Business Partnering: Support Key Account Managers in shaping multi-channel strategies and long-term retailer plans (assortment, promotions, pricing, merchandising).
  • Retailer Engagement: Lead client-facing meetings (market reviews, innovation roadmaps, assortment strategies) and develop tailored approaches per retailer.
  • Trade Execution: Communicate clear action plans to internal and external sales teams. Build compelling arguments and ensure flawless execution of negotiated activities.
  • Process & Planning: Set up structured routines and timelines. Define internal and external needs and align them across regional, sales, and distributor teams.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a central point between commercial, regional marketing, and field teams to ensure cohesive strategies and shared success.

 

What You Bring

 

  • Education: Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Business, Marketing or related field.
  • Experience: Proven track record in category management or trade marketing, ideally within specialised retail or FMCG. 
  • Analytical skills: Strong data analysis and insight generation abilities, with a strategic mindset.
  • Tools: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Languages skills: Fluent in English and French
  • You: Entrepreneurial spirit, structured approach, and the ability to lead in ambiguity. You are business-driven, customer-focused, and capable of managing multiple categories and channels simultaneously.
