Manage the Inventory activities supporting the Receiving Dock and all Production materials in addition to daily business requirements and monitor these assignments to ensure that appropriate results are occurring and spot potential problem areas.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Observes plant safety rules and assists management in oversight of safety roles.

  • Provide a proactive, aggressive leadership style that set the tone for a fast-paced work environment.
  • Listen to associate/supervisor suggestions and concerns.  Act where appropriate. 
  • Apply sound communications and motivational techniques in supervising subordinates within the guidelines of Newell Rubbermaid corporate policy.
  • Coach in areas where improvement is needed.  Build upon strong areas, acting as a mentor in seeking outstanding performance.
  • Evaluate customer requirements for Production and provide recommendations on ability to comply.
  • Foster a teamwork work environment throughout workforce.
  • Ensure that all safety, quality, and cost goals are monitored and achieve on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Develop and implement plans to reduce cost, increase productivity, while maintaining safety compliance.
  • Responsible for the Cycle Count Program.
  • Responsible for Chep Pallet Reporting.
  • Know how to use Footprints to get security access to SAP.
  • Demonstrate the ability to become a Superuser for PkMS.
  • Be a Business Process Champion for SAP
  • Evaluate the materials storage area and determine capacity constraints and implement solutions.
  • Work with other Newell suppliers on receiving/inventory issues.
  • Observes plant safety rules and assists management in oversight of safety rules.
  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
  • Responsible for getting warehouse supervisor or manager sign-offs for all inventory adjustments.
  • Responsible for daily productivity metric reporting, inventory accuracy reporting, etc. 

Basic Qualifications:

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience/Knowledge

Minimum Requirements:

  • Capable of working at an advanced level in PkMS and other systems. 
  • Skilled in inventory/manufacturing methods and systems.
  • Competent in MS Office, especially Excel. 
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills. 
  • Excellent human relations skills. 
  • Able to use conceptual skills with problem solving abilities. 
  • Ability to deal with experience with established inventory management practices and information systems relevant to such.   
  • Must be able to handle a variety of tasks with frequently changing priorities.
  • Forklift Certified

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

  • Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lean manufacturing experience.

Technical Role Competencies:

  • Good communication skills both written and oral, ability to organize and direct a diverse workload & workforce. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. 

Physical Requirement & Work Environment:

  • Standing and walking approximately 90 (ninety) percent of work time. 
  • Ability to work overtime on weekends with short notice.
  • Willingness to work all/any shifts.
  • Typical plant/manufacturing environment with concrete floors and moving equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
