Job Discription

The Sourcing Analyst leads the tactical efforts supporting the effective procurement of all packaging needs within their assigned area, striving to purchase at the best total cost and maintaining our standards of quality and service. Additional responsibilities will include supporting and participating in the development of packaging sourcing strategies, driving productivity, and completing competitive assessments. This role will support sourcing initiatives including new product development, supplier metrics, and on-going data management.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Support researching, identifying, and qualifying best value sources of supply
  • Support RFI / RFQ Processes including new/current supplier assessment, New Product Development projects, productivity opportunities, etc.
  • Assist in the delivery of priority KPIs for Enterprise Procurement including 3-5% year-over-year productivity (cost reduction), extended payment terms, and preferential lead times
  • Support the rightsizing of the supply base through the use of category spend and supplier capacity analysis
  • Support supplier relationship management activities (QBRs, weekly meetings, productivity/innovation opportunities, etc.)
  • Lead the everyday quoting process with incumbent suppliers in support of new product development and promotional activities
  • Set up and maintain accurate costing information in SAP and administer SAP requirements
  • Coordinate with the supplier and planner to minimize excess and obsolete inventory
  • Lead data integrity efforts (spend data gathering/verification, RFx analytics, etc.)
  • Work closely with the Associate Manager and Sr. Manager on development of medium- and long-term category strategy

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, packaging science, engineering, or related fields; or comparable experience
  • 1 to 3 years procurement/sourcing experience in packaging direct materials is preferred
  • Ability to create and deliver a strong and persuasive message through presentation materials and data
  • Basic negotiation knowledge and skillset; default mindset to approach negotiations using data
  • Basic understanding of the source-to-pay process and supply contracts
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong commitment to the highest standards of personal and professional integrity
  • Ability to organize and analyze data using a PC; Intermediate proficiency in Excel is a must
  • Experience in MS Office and Windows is required; SAP experience is preferred
  • Professional working proficiency in Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to travel domestically about 10% of the time.
