Production Heavy

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:

This position is responsible for ensuring that wire shelving is racked efficiently onto and off the paint line.  It is also responsible for packaging painted shelving.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Place shelving pieces onto racks.
• Remove painted shelving pieces from racks onto pallets.
• Pack bundles of shelving units for shipping.
• Cutting boards – make boards for pallets to place product onto during packing.

• General housekeeping/sweeping of work area.
• Comply with the quality control process.
• Comply with all rules and regulations, including safety.
• Maintain order of the work area.
• Other duties, as assigned.

CLIMATE/JOB ENVIRONMENT:

• Manufacturing
• Must be able to lift/carry 60 pounds constantly (67-100% of the time or over 500 times/day.)
• Position requires pushing a maximum force of 97 pounds.
• Employee’s position requires pulling a maximum force of 97 pounds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Attained at least a “meets standards” on most recent performance evaluation
• Must have good communication skills        
• Pass background check and drug screen (if an external candidate)
• Pass applicable WorkSteps Physical testing
• Ability to work in the United States

Basic verbal and written understanding of the English language
