Your Role & Team in a Nutshell
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining both our packaging machinery and the wider warehouse infrastructure at our Distribution & Packaging Centre in Fradley Park (Lichfield). You’ll ensure the smooth operation of five high-performance packaging machines while also supporting the upkeep of the building’s systems and facilities. You’ll be part of a dedicated facilities team, supporting operations through proactive maintenance, rapid response to breakdowns, and involvement in project work. You’ll collaborate closely with Facilities Manager, internal teams and external contractors.
We will help you achieve your goals and develop by providing regular feedback and access to online training courses.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot five packaging machines, ensuring minimal downtime
- Carry out general building maintenance across the warehouse, including HVAC, lighting, and safety systems
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues across electrical and mechanical systems
- Support project work and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work at height (up to 18 metres) using MEWP equipment
- Liaise with external contractors and internal operational partners
- Participate in an on-call rota for emergency situations (e.g. fire or flood)
- Optimise and implement preventive maintenance schedules using CMMS
- Provide technical support and training to operational staff
- Champion Health & Safety standards and ensure compliance with company policies
What You’ll Need
Minimum:
- Completed an electrically biased engineering apprenticeship
- 5+ years’ post-apprenticeship experience in a similar role
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and material handling equipment
- AC/DC Drives experience
- Able to travel within Europe
Your advantage:
- IPAF MEWP licence
- 17th or 18th Edition Electrical Regulations
- PLC fault-finding (Siemens or Allen Bradley)
- Experience with 6-axis robots and production line installations
- Knowledge of Legionella, HVAC systems, and CMMS
- Proactive team player and problem solver
