Job Purpose

 

The Case Picker is responsible for filling customer orders and delivering them to the loading operation in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, and productivity.  The Case Picker is responsible for the completeness and correctness of all orders picked.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Receives and logs out batches of pick tickets, corresponding to customer orders.
  • Utilizes electric pallet jack to pick customer orders in the form of case quantities from various pallet locations and heights, and labels products appropriately with the pick tickets and shipping (UPS) tracking labels.
  • Verifies product information on location labels and pick tickets to maintain high accuracy. 
  • Transports products to the loading operation.
  • Operates shrink wrap machine to secure materials for storage and/or shipment.
  • Maintain the products in good condition through proper handling and storage.
  • Complete and submit required paperwork thoroughly, accurately, and timely.
  • Disposes of empty boxes and packaging appropriately to maintain safe and clean working conditions.
  • Proficient in all safety and housekeeping requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.  0 to 1 yr. related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of basic warehousing operations preferred.
  • Ability to follow directions and work as a team member.
  • Basic documentation skills.
  • Ability to read fine print and differentiate products with similar characteristics (size, color, vendor code).
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet set targets and deadlines.
  • Ability to operate manual/electric pallet jack; experience with RF gun preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs (8, 10, 12-hour shifts).
