Job Purpose

 

The Team Leader is responsible for a variety of tasks to set up, operate and direct line personnel in assembly and packaging operations and to inspect and document in-process and finished goods for the purpose of ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for organizing and maintaining the job orders and their priority
  • Oversee the set-up of work stations, identification and verification of required materials, use of products, labels, packaging, and the writing and entering of production records.
  • Oversee and monitor the work of team members; provide them with assistance and guidance as it relates to their work; and ensure that employee rotation of workstations is followed.
  • Train new employees and coach existing employees.
  • Report any issues related to performance or quality to the group lead or Supervisor immediately.
  • Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Supervisor.
  • Participate as an active member of the assembly team and assemble products as necessary.
  • Fosters continuous improvement on the floor. 
  • Ensure full adherence of 5S practices.
  • Maintain and support a safe, clean work environment by complying with the company’s safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Must have a minimum of two years of related experience.  High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Basic understanding of computers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to work with others collaboratively.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Basic math, reading and writing skills.
  • Utilize hand and power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties.

 

 

 

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to work overtime and weekends as well as some irregular hours.   Will be exposed to some or all of the following: dust, odor, oils, outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and moderate to loud noise levels. 

 

 

Physical Requirements

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, bend, kneel, stoop, walk and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, and controls, and reach with hands and arms, push and pull.  Must have good repetitive manual dexterity with both hands.  The employee may be required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.  Must wear and use proper PPE at all times.
