SUMMARY:        Under minimal direction, repairs, rebuilds, performs change overs, and PM’s on Staple Set machinery and auxiliary equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Under minimal direction, safely performs mechanical, electrical & pneumatic repairs of all Staple Set equipment efficiently to maximize production and minimize downtime.

 

Uses setup sheets to perform changeovers on Staple Set machinery and utilizes Change History sheet to record any deviations from the setup sheet.

 

Works in conjunction with machine shop personnel to fabricate needed parts and sharpen trimmer and flagging blades.  Rebuilds trimmer and flagging boxes as needed.

 

Works in conjunction with other staple set mechanics to perform yearly machine rebuilds.

 

Repairs and maintains auxiliary equipment including pneumatic staplers, screw guns, and handle assembly presses.

 

Utilizes MicroMain software to produce and record work orders, PM’s & other services.

 

Performs duties in compliance with company policies and procedures.

 

Maintains regular and predictable attendance. 

 

Performs other assignments as requested or as business needs require.

 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED with 3 to 5 years of production/manufacturing/maintenance or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Formal electrical training helpful.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:          

Must have the ability to read, analyze and understand advanced trade mathematics, together with the use of complicated systems, schematics, manuals, procedures and technology in English.  Must be able to effectively present information, orally and in writing, to supervisors and other employees.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Uses advanced trades mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulae.  Uses a variety of precision measuring instruments, NC/CNC equipment, multi-machine workstations, personal computer and specific software application programs of a technical nature involving a thorough technical skills knowledge plus the application of basic theory.

           

REASONING ABILITY:

Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where some standardization exists.  Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
