Job Purpose

 

The Quality Assurance Inspector shall support the Quality/Engineering Department(s) by assisting in the reduction of manufacturing and vendor inefficiencies through the product testing and inspection to conformance of Newell Brands - Quickie standard engineering and quality requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Needs to help promote safe work environment and meet Plant Safety goals and ensure SEAL requirements are effectively executed.
  • Ability to read & understand Spec. sheet (Windchill database system – ECN’s, blueprints [drawings], and Engineering Specifications) and use SAP system and verify the parts required prior to inspection.
  • Inform managers/supervisors of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the concern / problem.
  • Review internal processes and procedures using audit results to correct operating issues, customer concerns, and reduce cost of failures.
  • Support personnel to ensure the attainment of goals set for overall quality/customer initiatives with a focus on Quality Assurance/Control initiatives.
  • Maintains inspection, measuring and test equipment in accordance with documented procedures, calibration.
  • Maintains records for products/raw material audits, calibrations, and nonconforming products through the use of computer software & database programs.
  • Coordinate quality issues from the beginning to full completion with appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct daily Process / Product Audit(s), key in the audit findings into a computer program and report out finding(s)/results.
  • Support & help train personnel with QMS requirements.
  • Maintain HQMS system.
  • Update Quality documents as needed.  Document Control knowledge is a plus.
  • Establish/ drive continuous improvements projects/processes.
  • Will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).

Education and/or Experience

  • Participation in monthly plant safety meetings
  • Candidate must be able to work in a team environment & willing to help others succeed.
  • Ability to accurately use measurement devices such as calipers, tape measures, and weight scales.
  • Candidate must be able to work independently
  • Superior organization and attention to detail
  • Advanced mathematical and analytical problem solving skills.
  • Strong QA lab skills, hand dexterity and proficiency with precision equipment
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Solid familiarity with computers, good command of Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to use databases.
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to spend long periods of shifts standing, squatting, bending, and walking.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
