TITLE: Industry 4.0 / Ignition Engineer-Maryville, TN

REPORTS TO:  Operations Manager

SUPERVISES: 1 Tech

JOB CLASS: Exempt

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:

This position plays a key role in integrating our Ignition MES / PowerBi system into our manufacturing processes.  Main duties include collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to detect and identify improvement opportunities and working with teams to create and lead improvement projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage data visualization throughout the manufacturing floor
• Work with IT to ensure computer & TV uptime and response speed
• Work with facilities and PLC technicians to validate machine connection to data
• Create relationships with operators and team leads to improve the Ignition MES/SCADA system
• Drive the adoption and switch over to the Ignition system throughout the manufacturing floor
• Create new ideas for machine automated data collection to replace manually input data systems
• Utilize data in the Ignition MES system to improve machine performance and reduce defects
• Maintains data for tracking OEE across the plant
• Create report templates in Excel and PowerBi for easy management data analysis
• Test out and provide feedback on new Ignition MES features
• Continuously improve Ignition MES/SCADA platform to drive Smart Factory initiatives
• Help lead digital transformation at the Newell Brands Maryville, TN plant

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Engineering Degree
• Interest in manufacturing and Industry 4.0
• Experience with MES plant manufacuring systems
• Strong desire to grow and continue learning
• Stay abreast of technology trends and innovations
• Experience with data in Excel and/or PowerBi
• Machine PLC setup and programming experience
• Experience with Python programming or any coding language preferred
• Experience with Ignition MES by Inductive Automation platform preferred

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  

• Engineering Degree Required / Bachelor’s degree preferred 
• 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
• Continuous Improvement experience
