TITLE: Production Spring Setter

REPORTS TO:  Production Supervisor

SUPERVISES: None

JOB CLASS: Hourly

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:

The Production Spring Setter will be responsible for reading spring drawings to set up Wafios FUL-16 machines, cam driven, custom-made spring machines, perform machine maintenance, maintain various pick and place cam driven assembly machines in proper working order that comply with existing company policies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reads drawings and sets up various spring coiling machines in proper working order.
• Maintains various machines (both mechanical and / or CNC) in proper working order.
• Repairs, remakes, or creates new tools as appropriate.
• Documents changes.
• Checks work performed to ensure quality.
• Ability to detect problems while machine is in operation.
• Can complete complex set-ups and make difficult adjustments on a wide variety of machines in the department.
• Use comparator and other equipment to test parts for quality.
• Train lower-level employees in using and set-up of coiling machines.
• Works and communicates well with different shifts and departments.
• Ability to work with, set up and align cameras.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Flexible to work any shift.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Visual aptitude – must be able to see with or without correction.
• Communication – ability to communicate verbally or non-verbally.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to perform standing job for 12 consecutive hours.
• Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods of time during a consecutive 12-hour period.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Previous manufacturing experience required.
• 5+ years of experience with Wafios Spring Forming Equipment preferred.
