GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:

The Purchasing and Warehouse Manager is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for managing both the purchasing department and warehouse operations. This position oversees a team consisting of three buyers and three warehouse supervisors, ensuring efficient procurement processes, inventory management, and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to streamline operations for optimal performance.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Purchasing Management

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
  • Oversee and manage the daily activities of three buyers, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
  • Analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities, including orders, contracts, and invoices.
  • Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
  • Manage ZRAW inventory levels to meet specified KPIs.
  • Analyze long term capacity risks and work collaboratively with sourcing to mitigate those risks.
  • Communicate short term inventory risks that could affect assembly, packaging, molding, or ink production.
  • Manage air freight budget.

Warehouse Management

  • Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring efficient handling, storage, and distribution of goods.
  • Supervise and manage two warehouse and one inventory control supervisor, providing direction, training, and performance feedback.
  • Implement and maintain warehouse safety standards and protocols.
  • Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure timely receipt and storage of goods.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and processes to maximize space utilization and operational efficiency.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to warehouse operations, including equipment maintenance and staffing concerns.
  • Manage indirect spend related to general purchases and outside service.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in purchasing and warehouse management, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, warehouse operations, and inventory management systems.
  • Proficiency in using procurement and warehouse management software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:                                                                                                  

  • APICS CPIM certification preferred.
  • SAP R/S, SNP (PP/DS), WMS, BW preferred.  System migration and start up experience highly desired.
