The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the daily warehousing activities. This position will be responsible for shift staffing, inventory management, material handler productivity, process management, and maintaining all associated records to support associates and the operation. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Motivate and lead a team of material handlers on each shift in the facility
- Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of the department activities.
- Develop and train employees on basic warehouse practices with a strong emphasis on safety, housekeeping, leadership, quality and accuracy
- Maintain a high level of inventory accuracy and control
- Create and maintain SOP for all elements of the Material Handlers and responsibilities creating foundation for document control and standardization
- Enforce policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective operations
- Supervise and control the accurate production receipt, issuance, and storage of all inventory to minimize operating costs
- Develop vision and focus to continually improve; act as a change agent
- Generate ideas and implement ideas to reduce operating costs and improve safety
- Facilitate training and development of employees. Provide feedback and evaluation on a regular basis
- Develop and manage assigned projects
- Maintain strong leadership presence by active involvement in Inventory Control and Manufacturing activities
- Communicate effectively with employees, peers, other departments and management team
- Complete pay role weekly
- Complete other job duties as assigned to support the business

- The successful candidate must be a self-starter, well organized, able to work both independently and as a team member, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Flexible to work any shift.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Visual aptitude – must be able to see with or without correction.
- Communication – ability to communicate verbally or non-verbally.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to perform standing job for 12 consecutive hours.
- Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods of time during a consecutive 12 hour period.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years inventory control experience.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment preferably with a WMS system and inventory management
- Experience in maintaining safety programs and developing ergonomic solutions.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is a plus.
