GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Briefly describe the job’s primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.  Provide support to the Tool Room with WEDM and CNC component production with knowledge of die, mold, and various tooling operation and repairs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: List the job’s essential or most important duties and responsibilities with the most critical functions listed first. 1. At least 3 years’ experience with production WEDM and CNC tooling components.
2. Design, improve, and repair molds and dies as needed to support production.
3. Troubleshoot mold and die problems and implement solutions. 
4. Use gages, micrometers, calipers to ensure specifications are met.
5. Follow verbal and written work instructions to ensure all work is performed according to specifications. 
6. Use visual inspections, quality instructions (and quality instruments as needed) to ensure quality parts are produced.
7. Document all work properly.
8. Cross-train on other positions as needed.
9. Follow all safety and environmental guidelines.
10. Assist in retrieving and moving dies and molds, requiring lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 75 lbs.
11. Work overtime as needed.

HS Diploma or GED

Machinist I Diploma or equivalent (able to set up and run mill, lathe, grinder, drill press, CNC setup and operate, WEDM setup and operate, etc.).

5 years work experience with WEDM and CNC with Tool and Die or Machine shop work experience preferred.
