e-Commerce AI Business Enablement Sr. Lead
Mexico City, MX
The Lead, AI Business Enablement guides the artificial intelligence journey of Newell's LATAM eCommerce business. It is a senior individual contributor role for a curious builder: someone who turns AI capability into commercial results across Amazon, Mercado Libre and other strategic digital customers, and who helps the whole regional organization work smarter along the way.
You'll have real freedom to explore, prototype and test ideas — and the backing to scale the ones that succeed. Some experiments won't work, and that's part of the deal. What matters is learning fast, being honest about results and turning the wins into everyday practice across the region.
Where You'll Make an Impact
Your energy will center on three missions.
Mission 1 | Drive Commercial Growth
Build the insight-to-action engine that accelerates revenue and profitability across Amazon, Mercado Libre and other strategic digital customers.
What you'll do
- Shape the commercial analytics agenda for the region: sales, market share, pricing, digital shelf, assortment, search performance, retail media, traffic, conversion, availability, Buy Box and profitability.
- Turn ambiguous business questions into quantified opportunities, business cases and executive-ready recommendations.
- Partner with Sales, Category Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance and Digital to help decisions move from weeks to days.
- Bring data to commercial priorities and help teams learn from what the numbers say.
Success looks like
- Commercial decisions become faster, better informed and easier to trace to outcomes, with revenue and margin wins the team can celebrate together.
Mission 2 | Evolve Ways of Working
Champion continuous improvement across the LATAM eCommerce organization: simpler processes, less manual work and good ideas that travel across markets.
What you'll do
- Explore and rethink core commercial processes together with the teams that run them.
- Reduce manual work through automation and help the best practices spread across markets.
- Guide cross-functional improvement initiatives from diagnosis to adoption, with empathy for how people experience change.
- Create playbooks and documentation that help improvements stick.
Success looks like
- A more productive organization: hours returned to commercial teams, fewer handoffs and ways of working that scale naturally across countries.
Mission 3 | Explore, Test and Scale AI
Take AI from ideas to everyday practice through experimentation: try, test, learn and scale what works.
What you'll do
- Spot and prioritize promising AI use cases across the business, guided by a clear view of potential value.
- Prototype, pilot and scale solutions such as commercial copilots, AI agents, workflow automation, pricing and competitive intelligence, content generation, reporting automation and knowledge assistants.
- Care for quality along the way: evaluation, reliability, responsible AI practices and data privacy, including LGPD.
- Nurture adoption through enablement, training and honest measurement of real usage.
- Stay curious about the frontier and test emerging AI technologies.
Success looks like
- AI woven into everyday operations, with adoption and impact everyone can see: less manual work, faster execution and a growing competitive edge.
How You'll Operate
As a P3 in Newell's Job Architecture, you'll work with a high degree of autonomy under broad direction.
- Shape: the LATAM eCommerce AI enablement roadmap, solution design and prioritization, and regional best practices.
- Influence: cross-functional, multi-country initiatives, partnering with stakeholders up to Director level.
- Develop others: mentor analysts across the region and help grow the organization's AI fluency.
- Recommend: bring investment ideas, vendor options and trade-offs to eCommerce leadership with a clear point of view.
Your First Year: Explore, Experiment, Scale
A natural arc for the first 12 months, which we'll shape together.
- Explore — first 90 days: immerse in the business, listen to teams across markets, map workflows and identify the opportunities with the most potential.
- Experiment — by month six: launch the first pilots in one or two markets, test and learn, and measure openly what works and what doesn't.
- Scale — by month 12: turn the successful experiments into solutions adopted across the region, and share the learning openly, including from the pilots that didn't make it.
What You'll Bring
Experience and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Business or a related quantitative field; an advanced degree (MBA or MS) is a plus.
- Around seven years or more of experience across eCommerce, commercial analytics, digital transformation or AI solutions, including meaningful hands-on time designing, testing and deploying AI or automation solutions that made it into everyday use.
- Stories of things you've built: solutions people actually adopted, the results they produced and the experiments that taught you the most.
- Strong marketplace fluency: the economics of Amazon and Mercado Libre, including retail media, digital shelf, search, Buy Box dynamics, 1P/3P models and profitability drivers.
- Hands-on comfort with SQL and Python, plus working command of LLM APIs and frameworks (prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, evaluation), enterprise automation (Power Platform, n8n, Make) and advanced Power BI.
- Confident, clear communication with senior stakeholders, in writing and in the room.
Languages
- Spanish: native or full professional proficiency.
- English: full professional proficiency. English is the working language with regional and global leadership, and parts of the selection process are conducted in English.
Nice to have
- Consumer goods, retail or marketplace industry experience at scale.
- Experience with AI governance, model evaluation and data privacy in enterprise environments.
- Internal copilots or agents you've built that found sustained adoption.
- Lean Six Sigma or comparable continuous improvement certification.
- Experience scaling solutions across multi-country organizations.
