The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting and helping to establish new processes, process control and capability on all facets of existing and new manufacturing including training and support across all shifts.

 

 Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and improvement of machine operational equipment effectiveness issues
  • Evaluate improvement activities on the manufacturing floor directly related to equipment capabilities, equipment design, new technologies on the plant floor
  • Develops strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of the various work processes of the company
  • Applies various industrial engineering problem solving and productivity techniques to evaluate the improvement of recommended strategies and programs
  • Instructs others in continuous process improvements, including the use of various problem solving and productivity techniques such as process mapping and cost time management
  • Assist the corporate engineering group on new tool design
  • Participate and provide expertise on new production molds
  • Develop standardized process sheets and system for process control
  • Work with the quality team on SPC and DOE
  • Assist in the implementation of RJG on the production floor (training and cavity pressure monitoring)
  • Lead scrap reduction efforts across multiple product lines                

 

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from four-year College or University
  • Injection molding processing background required
  • Ability to reason, make decisions, and use independent judgment in various situations
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively, both in oral and written form, among different levels of the organization, and have ability to communicate with employees who use English as a second language
  • Must be organized, a team player and be committed to quality systems
  • Must be able to handle multiple-projects at a time, self-motivated and pro-active
  • Must have knowledge of MS Office applications

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work some overtime as well as some irregular hours when needed. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds is required.   This position is often required to stand throughout most of the workday and will also be required to use a computer throughout the day.
