Job Overview

The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional facility by performing routine cleaning, material handling, and general facility support tasks. This role operates floor scrubbers and forklifts, manages waste and recycling, and provides janitorial services as needed to support daily operations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Operate industrial floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment to maintain facility floors
  • Perform janitorial duties as needed, including restrooms, breakrooms, offices, and common areas
  • Collect, transport, and dispose of cardboard, trash, and recyclables using a forklift and other material-handling equipment
  • Ensure waste areas, docks, and compactors are kept clean and organized
  • Conduct routine inspections of facility areas to identify cleanliness, safety, or maintenance issues
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and equipment operation standards
  • Assist with general facility support tasks as assigned (basic maintenance, setup, moving materials, etc.)
  • Maintain cleaning logs and report any equipment issues or safety concerns to supervision
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Experience operating floor scrubbers or industrial cleaning equipment preferred
  • Prior janitorial, facilities, warehouse, or industrial environment experience a plus
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong attention to safety and cleanliness
  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Exposure to warehouse conditions including seasonal temperature changes and equipment noise.
