Your Role & Team in a Nutshell

As a Sr GL Accountant, you will focus on accounting and related processes for EMEA entities, ensuring accurate and timely balance sheet reporting. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in technical accounting.
Additionally, you will lead or actively collaborate on projects and assist with integrating new processes within the Global Business Services teams.

We will help you achieve your goals and develop by providing regular feedback and access to online training courses.

 

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise stakeholders based on your accounting expertise.
  • Lead and participate in ad-hoc projects, integrations, and company initiatives.
  • Review BS and P&L accounts to identify trends, errors, or omissions.
  • Assist in quarterly balance sheet analytics and communicate findings to finance leaders.
  • Review monthly account reconciliations in Blackline.
  • Ensure accounts are reconciled with proper documentation per Newell Policies.
  • Support the General Ledger team during monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
  • Coordinate and monitor audit requests and support team members in gathering information.
  • Recommend process improvements to senior management and team leaders.

What You’ll Need

Minimum:

  • Accountancy degree or equivalent qualifications.
  • Demonstrated accounting experience in an international or multi-subsidiary environment.
  • Knowledge of GL processes, especially balance sheet and P&L variance analysis.
  • Fluent English, both written and verbal.
