Position Summary:
The Principal Industrial Designer, AI VizLAB is a creative professional with expertise in producing high-quality visual content across digital media. This role utilizes AI technologies to enhance design processes, improve efficiency, and deliver innovative digital content. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create AI-driven multimedia content that aligns with the company’s marketing and communication strategies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop captivating visuals and animations that clearly communicate design intent and product narratives, showcasing subject matter expertise and design excellence.
  • Create engaging motion graphics and animations using AI tools to enhance efficiency and introduce innovative effects.
  • Design and produce multimedia content, including videos, websites, presentations, and other digital platforms, leveraging AI for faster production and advanced effects.
  • Craft interactive media, such as animated infographics and web animations, using AI to improve user engagement and interactivity.
  • Utilize 3D CAD and generative AI tools to produce photorealistic digital renderings and visualizations for products, concepts, and marketing materials.
  • Drive AI-focused initiatives by identifying opportunities to integrate AI into design workflows and improve processes.
  • Research, recommend, and implement AI tools into design practices while participating in training to remain proficient in emerging technologies.
  • Develop and communicate visual development workflows, identifying potential gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership, sharing updates, best practices, and insights from AI-driven projects.
  • Lead and contribute to pilot projects testing and refining AI applications within the design process.
  • Advocate for AI’s benefits in design through workshops, presentations, and internal training.
  • Mentor and coach on world-class presentation techniques across the organization.
  • Stay informed on advancements in AI, sharing knowledge with the team and helping position the company as a leader in AI-driven design.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Art, or a related field preferred (minimum of a university degree or college diploma).
  • 7–10+ years of experience in Industrial Design or creating digital commercial assets for email, websites, and social media.
  • Proven experience producing high-quality multimedia content across platforms, with proficiency in AI tools preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, aesthetics, and visual composition, supported by AI tools to maintain high standards.
  • Proficiency in 3D design and modeling software (e.g., Blender, SolidWorks, Rhino, Unreal Engine, or Keyshot) and experience with AI for 3D content creation.
  • Strong photography and photo editing skills, utilizing AI for automated editing and enhancements.
  • Evidence of driving efficiency in the design process with operational awareness.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools (e.g., text-to-image, image-to-image, image-to-video and image-to-3D applications).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate ideas into 2D and 3D visualizations.
  • Deep understanding of industry trends and marketplace needs, with a passion for design.
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills, including expert presentation abilities.
  • Proven facilitation skills in managing group dynamics and guiding teams toward actionable outcomes.
  • Ability to manage priorities, multitask, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Collaborative team player, fostering creative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Appetite for learning and tackling new challenges.
  • Authorized to work in the United States (sponsorship not available).
  • Ability to travel at least once per quarter.

The Connecticut base pay range for this position is from $107,000 to $131,050. Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position.
