POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Tech I position provides basic maintenance support for the facility and supports supply chain activities for plant MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operational) purchasing.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Receiving, stocking, selecting and dispensing a variety of supplies and tools.
- Works with planner scheduler to order materials/parts required for maintenance work orders.
- Kits parts for planned maintenance and project work orders.
- Follows up with purchasing and suppliers to ensure order processing is progressing and on any late deliveries to minimize impact on business. Communicates issues and manages same with maintenance and operations team.
- Perform remote stocking.
- Responsible for maintenance purchase requisitioning.
- Work with Maintenance Planner to optimize processes and reduce purchasing cycle times such as barcoding of transactions.
- Will be required to do physical inventory counts, cycle counts adjustments.
- Inspects tools and equipment for wear or defects.
- Keep CMMS up to date so required maintenance tasks are performed on time to assure equipment reliability.
- Responsible for new part set-up and part master file maintenance in the stockroom purchasing and inventory system.
- Manage, Stock, and Replenish Inventory. Responsible for inventory fill, turn, and emergency orders.
- Site contact for Vendor Managed Inventories (VMI).
- Create ad-hoc reports as requested, including supplier spend, maintenance activities, and weekly schedules.
- Manage bi-weekly stockroom replenishment reports and the associated purchase order process; including order confirmations, part pricing updates, and purchase order documentation.
- Basic maintenance duties including, but not limited to, cleaning, snow removal, painting, lawn care, lubricating, basic carpentry/repairs, janitorial, bloodborne pathogen cleanup, etc.
- Support the maintenance technicians with equipment installation, and equipment repair; direct guidance from higher level technicians or supervisor provided.
- Periodic inspections and meter readings.
- Standard preventative and predictive maintenance tasks.
- Keep a clean work area, machines/equipment and sustain 6S principles.
- Adhere to and comply with all written GMP/Safety policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in PEAK initiatives, including 6S audits, and meetings.
- All job functions to be completed in compliance with federal, state, local regulations as well as company guidelines and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REPORTS TO: Maintenance and Facilities Manager
REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION LEVEL:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Advanced industrial technology coursework preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of two continuous years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of one-year related experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
- Ability to make decisions with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Skilled in communicating effectively (verbal, written, listening) with a variety of individuals
- Skilled in prioritizing, organizing and managing multiple projects
- Basic computer skills are necessary in the position
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word and Outlook
- Basic familiarity with the tools and mechanical/electrical components is necessary for the position.
- Basic hand tool and carpentry skills.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a powered industrial vehicle license.
- Ability to work periodically outside under all weather conditions.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a First Aid and CPR certification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk up to 90% of the shift.
- Lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to frequently carry up to 25 pounds.
- Have full range of motion of the waist and neck.
- Must be able to frequently bend (to the floor), twist, climb, kneel and have unrestricted use of upper extremities and perform over-head reaching, frequent climbing of stairs and ladders, and able to work in awkward or tight spaces occasionally.
- Push/Pull up to 200 pounds.
