POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician II position provides intermediate maintenance support for equipment and the facility.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to complete all expected duties within the Maintenance Tech I position.
- Equipment installation, equipment troubleshooting, equipment repair, parts checkout, parts ordering, and use of manufacturing tech support all with limited direct guidance from higher level technicians or supervisor.
- Maintenance activities with limited direct guidance including but not limited to:
- Electrical & plumbing installation and repair
- Hydraulic system troubleshooting
- PLC programming & troubleshooting
- Welding & cutting and basic building repair and construction
- Communication service installation and repair (phone, computer, audio, etc)
- Bloodborne pathogen cleanup
- Keep a clean work area, machines/equipment and sustain 6S principles.
- Adhere to and comply with all written GMP/Safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- All job functions to be completed in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, company guidelines and policies.
REPORTS TO: Maintenance & Facilities Manager
REQUIREMENTS / EDUCATION LEVEL:
- Required: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Preferred: Journeyman license, or equivalent technical training certification.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of five years work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of three years continuous maintenance experience, or two years of technical education and one year of continuous maintenance experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
- Ability to attend and complete technical schooling courses and obtain certification/apprenticeship.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups across multiple levels in the organization.
- Basic mechanical ability.
- Basic ability in all aspects of facility and equipment maintenance.
- Hydraulic troubleshooting
- Repair of electrical and plumbing systems
- PLC operations & programming.
- Electrical & hydraulic schematics
- Ability to obtain and maintain a powered industrial vehicle license.
- Ability to work at heights and work periodically outside under all weather conditions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a 1st aid and CPR certification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Frequent to constant standing, walking and stepping up and down, frequent lifting and carrying up to 25lbs, occasionally lifting up to 75lbs, frequently squat, bend, twist, reach and kneel, frequent or repetitive hand functions, frequently climbing of stairs and ladders, and able to work in awkward or tight spaces occasionally.
