Position Description

The Supply Planning Analyst is responsible for supporting the development and execution of production and inventory plans to ensure customer demand is met while maintaining optimal inventory levels, manufacturing efficiency, and service performance. This role partners closely with Production, Procurement, Customer Service, Distribution, Finance, and Operations teams to analyze demand requirements, monitor supply constraints, and develop balanced plans that support business objectives.

 

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of working cross-functionally in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain supply plans to support customer demand, inventory targets, and production capacity requirements.
  • Analyze demand forecasts and identify potential supply risks, capacity constraints, and inventory concerns.
  • Create and monitor production schedules in partnership with manufacturing operations.
  • Track key supply chain metrics including inventory levels, customer service performance, schedule attainment, and forecast accuracy.
  • Review material availability and collaborate with procurement and operations teams to mitigate shortages.
  • Support Sales Operations Planning (S&OP) and related planning processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Perform root cause analysis related to service failures, inventory issues, or production interruptions.
  • Develop reports and dashboards utilizing ERP systems, Excel, and business intelligence tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product launches, transitions, and business initiatives.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and Lean/PEAK initiatives.
  • Maintain data integrity within planning systems and ensure timely updates to planning parameters.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and annual planning activities.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or related field.
  • 2 to 5years of experience in supply planning, production planning, inventory management, manufacturing operations, logistics, or a related supply chain function.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make business recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and supply planning tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to analyze demand, inventory, capacity, and supply constraints to support operational decision-making.
  • Knowledge of supply chain planning principles, inventory control, forecasting, and production planning.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, Customer Service, Finance, Distribution, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience supporting Lean, Six Sigma, PEAK, or other operational excellence initiatives.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy and integrity.

 

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Ability to remain seated and work at a computer workstation for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently use a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally walk throughout manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution environments.
  • Ability to visually analyze data, reports, and production information.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving equipment while following all safety requirements.
