Your Role & Team in a Nutshell

As a Senior Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sustainable and profitable growth within your designated channel (FDM or specialty). Your goal is to manage and develop a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring you meet or exceed sales and margin targets while promoting the brands (i.a. Parker, Sharpie, Sistema, Spontex, Crockpot, NUK, Coleman, Yankee Candle) and adding value for customers.
You will lead a team of 6-8 people.

We will help you achieve your goals and develop by providing regular feedback and access to online training courses.

 

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve Sales Targets: Meet or exceed annual, quarterly, and monthly sales targets, including key performance indicators (KPIs) including discount rates, conversion, ATV, shrinkage and people costs.
  • Translate business goals into actionable plans and strategies that drive the business forward.
  • Budget Management: Own and manage budgets and forecasts, ensuring effective control of costs and financial performance.
  • Profit and Loss Oversight: Maintain full responsibility for P&L, driving growth through accurate forecasting and increasing profitable throughput.
  • Account Management: Execute comprehensive account planning and proactively manage revenue and margin discrepancies through the implementation of Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Customer Relationship Development: Negotiate and enhance customer relationships across various channels to drive business growth, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of Newell Brands.
  • Event Management: Plan and attend trade shows and customer events to attract new business and represent the brand portfolio effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior leaders and various teams (sales, marketing, HR) to optimise business planning and product development.
  • Market Strategy Development: Create and implement sales and marketing strategies to enhance market penetration of products.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing sales team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and competencies.

 

What You’ll Need

Minimum:

  • Significant experience in a senior leadership role in commercial retail or key account management with proven track record of account growth and meeting revenue targets.
  • Strong financial understanding and ability to analyse data for informed business decisions to drive success.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally 40%-50% of time
