Summary/Objective
The Maintenance Lead position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Essential Functions
- Schedule and prioritize various building and production equipment maintenance tasks.
- Work closely with vendors and contractors to complete scheduled work orders.
- Work closely with management, leadership teams, building landlord and contractors to address building security, fire, safety and other time sensitive issues immediately and efficiently.
- Perform highly diversified duties to maintain facility’s equipment Including.
- emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance of equipment during operations using skills including but not limited to; mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Early detection of faulty operations, defective material. Plan repairs, report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Maintain and schedule service as needed for material handling trucks and flooded lead-acid batteries.
- Maintain logs of spare parts inventory for all production equipment and flooded lead-acid batteries for EPA reporting.
- Be budget and production impact-minded in repairs and projects related to all maintenance and facilities, considering workload and customers.
- General Facilities Maintenance to include Pluming, Carpentry, Painting, Cleaning, Concrete Repair.

- Manage & maintain all safety programs assigned.
- Assist on-site Safety Supervisor with maintenance related safety compliance.
- Assist in creation and implementation of safety standards following corporate and OSHA guidelines.
- Attend regular safety meetings and be actively engaged in safety programs.
- Conduct monthly safety training as required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Work indoors and out in inclement weather, snow/ice removal, wind, rain, heat.

Education, Experience, Skills and Competencies
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintaining a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment including conveyors, sorters and various other types of mechanized equipment, preferably in a warehouse/distribution facility.
- Working knowledge of conveyer systems and controls.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite/Windows.
- Experience with the following a plus:
- Automation Conveyor – 24VDC and conventional 480VAC gearmotor driven.
- PLC programming using Allen Bradley Rs Logix 5000.
- Compass CORS conveyor control software.
- Allen Bradley Power flex VFD controllers.
- SICK barcode scanners.
- Strong mechanical skills.
- Strong electrical knowledge and skills.
- General plumbing knowledge and skills.
- General carpentry knowledge and skills.
- Must be self-motivated and have the independence, initiative and desire to achieve.
- Interpersonal skills that include the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with team members and other users on a non-technical level, and translate their needs into workable solutions,
- Ability to demonstrate supportive relationships with peers, leaders, vendors and corporate executives.
- Must possess strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for a total of 40 hours per week. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Maintenance and repair-related travel is primarily local during the business day.
Annual travel for maintenance training is required 1 time per year minimum.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Supervision Received
Reports directly to the on-site Maintenance Supervisor.
