SUMMARY

The Allocation Analyst is responsible for allocation of inventory between global customer orders to achieve timely and complete customer deliveries. They will work to protect and fulfill customer orders as determined by dealer services and direct to customer teams.  They will create and distribute reports detailing order status, service level performance, and other key performance metrics to the organization.  The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management processes and will work primarily with the Planning, Sales, Dealer Services, and Direct to Customer teams to identify and escalate risks and opportunities to the organization.

 

MAJOR JOB REPSONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage and report product allocation of global customer sales orders to achieve optimum customer satisfaction.
  • Manage proper allocation quantities by customer and SKU using forecast and inventory data.
  • Possess a working knowledge of activities that impact supply and demand requirements. 
  • Analyze system-generated inventory and forecast data to identify potential inventory shortages. 
  • Coordinate with Sales & Planning teams to determine the most beneficial allocation of available inventory ensuring highest customer OTIF scores.  
  • Communicate backorder and sold-out status with cross-functional team members and provide direction for substitute items where applicable.
  • Remain current on rolling product changes, discontinued items, model and priority changes.
  • Determine the need and systematically maintain records of inventory placed on hold to reserve for future consumption.  
  • Systematically maintain records of seasonal inventory availability and report out available to sell positions.  
  • Create, review, and distribute reports including but not limited to order cancellations, inbound container hot lists, overview of total order status, overview of total shipping status, air freight analysis, order change requirements, and global service level metrics.  
  • Complete adhoc initiatives to support Planning functions.

Key Qualifications:

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in wholesale or retail allocation, order management, inventory planning, or other supply chain management roles preferred.  
  • Outdoor and/or apparel industry experience welcomed.
  • Thorough knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes - particularly supply & demand planning
  • Previous experience and advanced skillset with global ERP systems required; SAP preferred.
  • APICS, CPIM or other Supply Chain Management qualifications is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Access and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, SUMIF).
  • Comfortable collaborating with a close-knit and highly engaged team.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to formulate data-driven solutions. Able to clean, analyze, and extrapolate key trends from large data sets.
  • Must be a detail-oriented self-starter, and comfortable taking initiative. Capable of producing high quality results on a sustainable basis and clearly articulate time-sensitive information that drives decision making across the entire business unit.
  • Ability to organize work and manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to simplify complex issues into actionable insights and communicate next steps.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively influence both internal and external customers/relationships.

Communication Skills – Strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and support strategic decision making with prudent information.

Critical-thinking Skills – Develop, adjust, and carry out allocation plans. Must be able to identify service risk & opportunities and improve efficiency while meeting customer needs.

Organizational Skills – Be able to perform several tasks at one time, keep detailed records, and simultaneously manage several projects in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-solving Skills – Must handle unforeseen issues, such as delivery or manufacturing delays, or unplanned demand spikes, and adjust as needed to resolve the issues.

Analytical Skills – Collect and analyze information, problem solve with the data and make decisions.

 

The California base pay range forthis position is from $79,000 to $96,600. Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position
