POSITION SUMMARY

The Saint-Genis-Laval site (France) is classified as a high-threshold SEVESO site due to the volume of gas stored and is equipped with dedicated safety systems to mitigate risks. In accordance with the site’s operating authorization issued by the Prefect, a continuous on-site safety presence is mandatory. Therefore, this role operates on a 24/7 basis, 365 days a year.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Ensure the day-to-day prevention of major risks by conducting regular safety patrols, closely monitoring ongoing operations, alarm systems, and detections, while enforcing compliance with safety procedures.
• Provide on-site safety oversight for specific operations (e.g., gassing/degassing, confined space entry) and support operational teams in executing their activities safely.
• Maintain operational flexibility with the gatehouse function to ensure continuous monitoring of alarm systems and controlled site access.
• Respond to incidents and abnormal events affecting people, assets, or the environment, in accordance with established procedures, including emergency alert protocols.
• Perform routine testing and first-level maintenance of safety equipment used for prevention, protection, and emergency response, including within emergency plans. Ensure proper documentation and timely escalation to the team leader or department manager.
• Promote a strong safety culture by actively contributing to training programs, internal safety inspections, and verifying compliance with safety standards across the site, including during contractor activities.
• Ensure comprehensive monitoring and follow-up of waste management activities across the site.
