About Enterprise Procurement:

The Enterprise Procurement function at Newell Brands is responsible for managing an estimated ~$6.0B in Sourced Finished Goods, Direct Materials, Indirect Services, and Transportation spend, managing supplier relationships, driving strategy, and enabling the agility and continuity of supply. Additionally, the team is accountable for ensuring ethical, responsible sourcing practices, maintaining compliance against contracts, and optimizing the global Real Estate portfolio.

 

About the Procurement Center of Excellence:

The Procurement Center of Excellence (COE) supports Enterprise Procurement in cost optimization and risk mitigation through the Strategic Sourcing Process, data-driven ideation, governance reporting (PMO), and continuous improvement initiatives. The Procurement COE provides analytical, process, and strategic support to maximize Procurement’s delivery of value across Newell’s diverse portfolio of categories. The team offers broad visibility, exposure to leadership, and career development opportunities in a high-performance, cross-functional environment.

 

Summary:

In this role, the Manager is responsible for leading and executing strategic Procurement initiatives of strategic sourcing process adoption, project execution, savings delivery opportunity analysis and identification, and other ad hoc workstreams across four main Procurement towers (Sourced Finished Goods, Direct Materials, Indirect Services, Transportation). The Manager plays a critical role in analyzing Procurement activities at a macro level while providing leadership to direct reports and collaborating with Category Teams to execute sourcing projects and identify cost-saving opportunities.

 

Responsibilities:

Project Execution

  • Partner with Category Teams to execute large sourcing projects through the Newell Strategic Sourcing (Stage Gate) Process, driving savings delivery
  • Demonstrate cross-tower expertise of the Newell Strategic Sourcing Process and work with Tower leads and Category Sourcing teams to ensure adoption and implementation of the process
  • Lead direct reports and be accountable for team members successfully creating, managing, and supporting RFx and project execution, including presentation building, delivery, and data analysis
  • Own and manage governance compliance reporting to provide visibility and accountability in sourcing execution

Ideation

  • Oversee the COE ideation process, using data-driven insights and process knowledge to support tower-level project ideation and unlock opportunities to build the Procurement funnel, with a special focus on identifying untapped spend and quick-win cost savings opportunities
  • Assist Senior Manager in working with Category Sourcing to understand category strategies, identify areas of opportunity, and plan support for upcoming projects
  •  Support Procurement leadership in strategic planning sessions and deep-dive reviews to optimize spend and savings impact

People Management

  • Manage development of direct reports through day-to-day coaching, performance management, long-term career development, and other related responsibilities
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for direct reports and other Analysts within the team by embodying leadership traits and providing guidance
  • Encourage collaboration across COE and Procurement functions, ensuring cross-functional engagement and effective use of technology

Other

  • Lead independent special projects/or program manage strategic Procurement workstreams as requested by senior leadership
  • Support the PMO reporting process for productivity and other critical KPIs as requested

 

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred, not required)
  • 5-7 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or related fields (consumer products experience preferred)
  • Hands-on experience managing RFx events and leading Procurement strategy execution (SAP Ariba, Coupa Sourcing Optimization experience preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to work with complex datasets and leverage technical tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.) to drive decision-making
  • Ability to synthesize data and present insights to executive stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to coach and develop a team, manage multiple priorities, and hold employees accountable
  • Exceptional problem-solving and project management skills, with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Effective communicator with strong presentation skills, capable of engaging with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Self-starter with high accountability, agility, and a passion for driving results
