The Sr Manager, Brand Analytics will work closely with the Sr Director of Brand Analytics and Insights Management, Brand team, and Marketing teams to lead data-driven storytelling, focusing on driving overall category growth by leveraging advanced analytics, syndicated data, shopper and consumer insights, category, and industry trends.

 

The Sr Manager, Brand Analytics will lead advanced analytics within the CSI&A organization with business insights analysis, reporting, and competitive intelligence and insights for all Newell Brands

Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

 

Capability Expertise: 

  • Manages and executes advanced analytic research, such as Marketing Mix and Assortment Modeling, to determine how the business can unlock growth potential through third party advanced analytic providers.
  • Partners with internal functional owners to manage flow of information between Newell and third-party vendors.
  • Maintain and enhance advanced analytics capabilities to improve speed, quality and actionability of results.
  • Analyze data and formulate conclusions about trends. Develop and present business updates for the internal organization.
  • Consult on brand & merchandising strategies based on findings from customized research, combined with marketplace data & consumer insights with key internal teams.
  • Develop and demonstrate proficiency of combining data from multiple data and applications to drive insights into customer presentations.
  • Contributes to insight driven decision making.

 

Category/Customer Experience: 

  • Develop basic understanding of all Newell categories and leads cross functional team to develop best in class insights based on identification of opportunities to enhance in-market performance.
  • Provide insight and perspective of the various channel dynamics.
  • Understand how online purchase behaviors differ from those in-store and how we can capitalize on those differences.

Project Management:

  • Lead project management to communicate action plan to senior leads and provide regular status updates.
  • Communicates actionable unbiased recommendations on how to move the business forward by delivering solutions that surprise and delight on how to win in the marketplace.
  • Executes the process of helping all stakeholders (both internal and external) understand the full spectrum of consumer and shopper touch points.
  • Ability to own multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Serve as project lead by informing and pulling in subject matter experts when needed.
  • Ability to prioritize and lead projects effectively.

Qualifications: 

  • Four-year college degree, BA or BS in business related field, Graduate Degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in a Business Insights, Advanced Analytics, Competitive Intelligence, Category Management or Management Consulting (i.e. McKinsey, Bain, BCG etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills and proven track record translating research results into actionable implications for businesses.
  • Proficient in Third-party syndicated data platforms such as Circana, Nielsen or similar applications.
  • Firsthand experience with modeling, specifically marketing mix modeling, promotional effectiveness, price elasticity, incrementality assessment and assortment optimization.
  • Experience with statistics and statistical software such as SPSS or SAS.
  • Expert level Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Managerial experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills a must.
  • Experience in consumer products/durables preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, managing multiple and complex projects simultaneously, delivering comprehensive insights knowledge on-time and on-budget.
  • Ensure timely delivery of highly accurate data that allow for sound business decisions.
  • Self-starter and able to work both independently and in team environment.
  • Excellent and proven communication skills; persuasive and able to succinctly communicate ideas.
  • Experience working cross functionally and in a matrixed organization.
  • Broad based experience qualitative research methods, with the ability to design and deploy advanced analytic research from the ground up.
  • Experience executing the strategic learning plan for a brand or product category and managing a research budget accordingly.
  • Experience tailoring communications to different audiences and communicating to stakeholders:  brand leadership, cross-functional team members, agency, and retail partners, etc.
  • Genuine respect for and curiosity about consumers, shoppers, end users and retail.
  • Experience discovering consumer and customer insights that lead to actionable recommendations.  
  • Willingness to continuously build advocacy for the CSI&A function.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of presentation skills to top management and internal customers
  • Proven ability to analyze and deliver insights from multiple data sources.
  • Well organized and able to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
