Job Title: Logistics Lead – 1st Shift-Shelbyville, TN

Job Classification: Hourly 

Reports to: DC Supervisor 

A Logistics Lead is responsible for overseeing all In Gate/Out Gate operations and ensuring the efficient flow of inbound and outbound traffic throughout the distribution center yard.  The Logistics Lead is responsible for maintaining the safe and efficient movement of inbound and outbound traffic within the distribution center yard.  Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate yard inventory, updating the Yard Management System (YMS), and providing professional support to over-the-road drivers. 

Logistics Lead Responsibilities:  

• Good communication  

• Willing to be mobile on the Yard and travel between the DC and Guard shack.  

• Be the go-to team contact of issues/concerns to take to the Area Leads/Specialists.  

• Ability to work outdoors and stand for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs.  

• Bring up issues and concerns that are happening on the Yard. 

• Engaging in conversations with over-the-road drivers. 

• Check trailers In/Out and verify seal accuracy. 

• Meet and exceed all FTZ and CTPAC requirements. 

• Perform 7-point inspection of incoming equipment. 

• Verify all outgoing trailers to ensure it matches BOL 

• Good understanding or ability to learn systems including YMS/PkMS/SAP/People Finder. 

• Managing all incoming/outgoing parcel. 

• Be a representative of the company and exude professionalism.  

• Team player within the shift and between the shifts  

• Has good attendance and is accountable  

Safety/Housekeeping: 

• Safety focus – Drive to improve safety performance, ensure safety rules/practices and good housekeeping is followed.  

• Ensure that all housekeeping and 6S audits are conducted daily. Target 6S rating to exceed 90%. 

• Maintain clean and orderly work area. 

• Maintain clean and orderly equipment and report any safety concerns on the rides.  

Experience: 

• HS/GED required, and 2 or more years of related experience preferred. 

• Demonstrated leadership abilities; previous leadership experience is an asset. 

• Experience in distribution/logistics/warehouse preferred. 

• Team oriented, self-motivated, and have a positive attitude. 

• Good communication both written and verbal. 

• Ability to plan work daily and be self-motivated. 

• Require flexibility to changing priorities based on shipping and production department needs.
